The box is huge and the bottle, with that wood-effect finish, gives incredible warmth and elegance. As the colleague said, it’s like stepping into a carpentry workshop with sawdust of fragrant woods invading you with many different wood aromas… very pleasant. It has quality and noble elegance; it could be 100ml, but it doesn’t quite reach. It resembles a softer Encre Noire, not so dark, but with good fixation. A great perfume for your collection.
What a find! Woods and vetiver at the limit, but combined with a surprise. Resins, woods, vetiver and that’s it, that’s what it smells like. To me, it’s an Encre Noir with steroids, but brighter. The longevity is brutal, a proper EDP. The price-to-quality ratio is laughable. You can tell the care taken in the bottle’s design.
In my opinion, it is a fragrance that makes me think of stepping into a fine carpentry workshop where cedar is being cut, mixed with slightly citrusy notes. It doesn’t project much, but it is a pleasant aroma, somewhat mature and a bit formal. Its packaging and name reflect exactly what it contains. It reminds me slightly of Lattafa’s Raghba Wood Intense, but the Woody smells a bit greener and less intense.
Vetiver, patchouli, cedar and oud, the main things my inexperienced nose detects, forming the base of this intense perfume. This is not a designer fashion vibe. It follows the path of Encre Noire, both the extreme and the original, with nods to Terre d’Hermès (I suppose more towards the Parfum) and even that bargain gem, Franck Olivier Black Touch. In the end, it settles into a deep vetiver, but above all, very, very woody, almost to the extreme, as its own name suggests. A purely winter perfume for men who enjoy scents with depth. The longevity is good, a bit better than a normal EDT, and the projection is spot on; these types of aromas don’t need to be beastly. I don’t see it for daily use due to its intensity, which could be overwhelming. A fine woody perfume that makes me stand up for myself against the mediocre performances I’ve smelled from the house recently (Rasasi has good options but with ups and downs in their longevity). Give it a try. ***Of the perfumes also mentioned in this review, the Woody ends up being the most woody of all. Only for those very fond of woody notes in terms of olfactory preferences.
