It’s absolutely brilliant; it smells almost identical to Givenchy Gentleman Only.

Wind Wood is a timeless masterpiece. It’s an adult fragrance, nothing for school or university; it’s for someone mature who projects confidence. It reminds me slightly of Dior Fahrenheit, but this isn’t as sharp. Mancera keeps the fragrance going all day, a personal bubble that lasts well (one metre of projection for 10 hours). If you put it on your clothes, it will last for several days until you wash it. Try it first because it might be overwhelming if you’re new and used to sweet perfumes. This is for men; I don’t see it on women.

Mancera Wind Wood is a stunning fragrance that not only delights but attracts many compliments. At first, I didn’t like it much, but in the end, it won my heart. It’s like a twisted fougère; I don’t see any relation to Fahrenheit. It’s green, woody, with a touch of talc and mossy; the violet is noticeable. The opening is sharp, but the dry-down is rich, very Mancera style. It’s synthetic but very well crafted. It works perfectly for intermediate stages and is versatile. Excellent performance; great work by the house.

I’m not a reviewer, but that scent is exquisite, one of the few that makes my mouth water. When I wear it, I’m transported to a forest after the rain, with droplets on the pine needles, the smell of pine and wet woods with damp grass, accompanied by a cool breeze on the face. Good longevity, excellent projection, rich scent, little hype. A hidden treasure in the middle of the forest.

A truly fresh violet fragrance. At first, that note took me by surprise, but over time it has won my heart. It brings to mind Poker Face by Ted Lapidus, though they would need to be tested side by side to confirm the nuances. Solid performance, without a doubt.

A proper stinker, no more. Note: do not buy blind; it is not for everyone. Many will find it difficult, but for me, it is not, you simply need character. Handle with care, as this is intrusive and lasts long enough to bore.

Woods, green, and a touch of leather, sublime. I do not understand why violet is always associated with Fahrenheit; Wind Wood is something else entirely. It lasts around 14 hours; alongside Layton, it is what lasts the longest in my collection. Ideal for spring and fresh days. If you are seeking compliments, it is more for personal satisfaction, although today a girl in a restaurant asked what I was wearing and how good it smelled. Unusual aromas. I give it a 9/10.

There are notes we associate with perfumes we reject, such as violet and Fahrenheit, and that’s why they don’t give this Wind Wood a chance. Before starting, know that that resemblance isn’t real. Wind Wood isn’t equal to Fahrenheit, though they have a relationship by affinity; the Mancera one is rounder, less strident, fresher and more pleasant. It’s a modern version, fresher and woodier, a distant relative, like those second cousins you know exist but haven’t seen. It’s green, aromatic and fresh. The opening combines these nuances; the green notes bring me to dried grasses from the margins of forest paths. It’s not dark, it’s luminous and fresh; a note helps that is more than mandarin, it’s the scent of its rind or the leaves left on the stem when removed. This part may not be pleasant, but it evolves by combining with the predominant violet, which here feels fresh, with its characteristic sweetness but nothing like tarred as in others, it’s more green, androgynous, wild, even metallic and less intrusive. The evolution continues, it’s the most enjoyable phase: cedar and leather appear, giving character, making it dry, woody and accorded without losing the comforting, talc-like air the violet is gaining. In my opinion, all Mancera perfumes have a common base, something like the Chanel aldehydes, here it’s a perceptible creamy, spicy musky touch at the end, combining with the talc-like, dry and accorded nuances until disappearing close to the skin. Personally, it’s the perfume I like most from the French house so far. It’s masculine, dresses well and is versatile: character for standout moments, but fresh and aromatic for casual wear in warm climates. My sample is from last year and although it seems Mancera fiddled where it shouldn’t have, the performance is acceptable and the scent very well achieved. The price is high, perhaps the only drawback along with the performance, that at those prices you can always ask for more. Although it won’t please everyone, it’s a delicate and well-constructed perfume that I hope to enjoy more often.

My love for perfumery was born from Dior Fahrenheit; when my father wore it, I was impressed by its masculinity. Since childhood, I have grown fond of it, then I bought it for myself, and it remains my favourite for sentimental reasons. I always wanted to find something that took the best of Fahrenheit, making it modern and usable, and I found it in Wind Wood. Note: it is not a clone; they simply share notes and give the sensation of a leather jacket soaked in petrol, à la Dior, but modern and elegant, less incisive and suffocating. So much so that a woman can wear it perfectly. For me, it is a 10/10, it lasts over 7 hours, has a wide trail, and has generated compliments of the type ‘smells delicious’. Although it is more usable than Fahrenheit, it is not as versatile; it is very elegant, so I would reserve it for special occasions and a good outfit.

Good morning, afternoon, or night. PRE-READING: if you want to save time, the summary: great scent, one of the best I’ve tried! Projection and performance are adequate; it’s not beast mode but it’s noticeable and leaves a trail within a metre. Don’t buy blindly; I haven’t seen anyone who dislikes it, but perhaps due to the projection, many won’t want it. Reasonable price for what it offers. DEVELOPMENT: SCENT: one of the best I’ve heard; those slightly ‘alien’ green notes give a robust opening (especially on clothes), stabilising after 15 minutes, just right for heading out. The combination works, the development is a delight, even close to the skin. PROJECTION: A delight for winter, usable in summer too. With 2-3 sprays it lasts 6 hours indoors; on skin it’s noticeable for 3 hours, on clothes 8 or more. Not brutal, medium trail, beware of legal batches because cheap copies abound. Satisfactory, though not spectacular. VERSATILITY: Very versatile, good for office or formal events, suits well, though to make an impression you have to over-apply. With 5-6 sprays on clothes it lasts hours. Be careful not to spray too much near clothes; if you exaggerate, it becomes oppressive. UNISEX: No!, totally masculine. Debatable because they say there’s no gender, but I don’t see any women using it here. BLIND BUY: Perhaps, better to buy a decant first to test in different climates. The projection is adequate but not as extensive, which discourages buying the bottle, but in my opinion it should be in a fresh collection. PRICE: Between 120-138€ for 100ml, sometimes on offer at 100€, hard to find good prices here compared to Europe, but it’s worth it. Wish it cost less. LOCATIONS: wherever you fancy, it goes well everywhere. INGREDIENTS: very good, you can tell the quality from opening the box. The big drawback is the projection; wish it improved in some batch, because if it projected like Red Tobacco, it would be incredible! FEMALE OPINION: I’ve never received a negative comment; everyone likes it and compliments don’t fail to come, in the office it’s the one that generates the most compliments alongside Bvlgari Men in Black. Pity that neither projects as they should. FINAL NOTES: for those who say it’s weak, check those batches properly. For me, better than the hyped Cedrat Boise, she passes by and moves on! Rating: 9.5/10.

The truth is, when people buy deals online thinking they’re getting a bargain, they often end up with fakes or defective batches and then write reviews based on that. If it’s not inexplicable, how can you say it lacks performance? If you’re crying your eyes out, please. It’s a perfume you can’t apply to your chest or under your neck because you’ll suffocate. It’s a bomb that requires caution, and yet they say it doesn’t last half an hour… In itself, it’s a resolutely masculine scent, sometimes too so, with that patchouli right on the edge of tolerability and a deep, enchanting violet giving it a touch of Fahrenheit but with steroids. The moss, leather, and vetiver are very noticeable; it’s an amber fragrance through and through. It doesn’t quite reach old barbershop territory, leaning more towards wood than evoking a forest. It’s very rich, but limited by its potency and masculinity; it’s not for daytime because it’s overwhelming, but for evening or a date, you won’t find a rival. When you’re spending your hard-earned cash on something like this, buy from an authorised retailer, because otherwise, expect the tears.

Left me cold. I bought it excitedly at a good price from a trusted website, but upon opening it… well. Either it’s this batch (it arrived cut and sealed with gold tape) or it simply smells of nothing. It projects nothing at all. Now I use the 120ml bottle as a linen spray for pillows and cushions, because it serves no other purpose. What a pity, because that soft, rich wood note lasts just 30 minutes.

2020 batch review: Starts with citrus mixed with woods; the opening is potent. After 10 minutes, that lovely violet emerges; combined with the woods and leather, it gives a gasoline-like scent reminiscent of Fahrenheit, but here it is softer and woodier. To me, it’s like a blend of Fahrenheit and Terre d’Hermès. This phase lasts four hours, projecting well. By the fifth hour, that ‘kerosene’ tone fades, settling close to the skin with just the wood and faint traces of musk, lasting until 8–10 hours. Good performance. Ideal for spring and autumn; there are better options for winter, and it’s too heavy for summer. More mature than youthful. A bit pricey at the official cost (€120), but you can find it online in Spain for under €100, which, given its performance and quality, makes it a highly recommended purchase if you enjoy these scents. PS: After macerating for a year, it is incredibly long-lasting, over 12 hours.
