Perfumes de Carmita Magalhães

Carmita Magalhães is a perfumer at Firmenich, a leading global fragrance company. She was born in France to Portuguese parents, but has lived in Brazil since 1999, where she describes herself with pride as “franco-portuguesa brasileñizada”.

As she grew up near a forest, Carmita was fascinated by the scents of nature, particularly the aroma of trees. Her father, who taught her how to recognise aromatic plants, inspired her love of fragrances and led her to pursue a career in perfumery. After five years of training as a perfumer, Carmita was offered a position at Firmenich in Brazil.

Having seen the perfume industry evolve in Brazil over many years, Carmita now creates fragrances that embody her three key words: freshness, comfort and sensuality. She draws inspiration from Brazil’s natural beauty and diversity, where she finds that everything is a journey. For Carmita, nature is the best perfumer of them all, and she loves the scent of mint in the streams, the fragrance of olive wood and the smell of basil when it rains.

Carmita is passionate about her work as a perfumer and is dedicated to creating unique, memorable fragrances. She believes that perfumery is a form of art that allows her to express her creativity and connect with people on an emotional level. For Carmita, the joy of perfumery lies in being able to evoke memories, emotions and sensations through the power of scent.
