  Sniffing out obscure vintage fragrances is nearly impossible these days, with outrageous online prices and replicas that smell like cheap shower gel. Duke of Atkinsons is a tricky proposition that will wrinkle many noses. It opens soapy and citrusy with a strong vintage edge, highlighting moss, aldehydes, and a consistent tobacco note (on my skin, these are the most prominent). It feels like stumbling upon a bar of soap from another era tucked away in a forgotten drawer of an abandoned mansion. Overall, it’s a pleasant scent for me, with a soft, tranquil woody base, especially considering the year it was created. It’s worth exploring if you enjoy aromas from that period and want to study how perfumes evolve over time. To be honest, it doesn’t remind me of either the legendary Rabanne or Antaeus, so if you’re hunting for something similar to the vintage versions of those two, you’d be better off looking elsewhere.
