Rose de Molinard is a good perfume with decent longevity and sillage, but if you’re not a rose lover, brace yourself for an olfactory invasion from start to finish. It’s not a fresh, youthful rose, but rather a mature, red one that exudes an intoxicating scent without asking permission. I bought it expecting something softer and more restrained, like The Merchant of Venice’s Rosa Moceniga (magnificent!), but instead found something far more intense, with some truly unpleasant notes in the opening. Plus, there’s a masculine undertone that doesn’t quite convince me, even though I’ll admit it’s a good rose perfume.

  2. This perfume is a solitary, slightly melancholic rose. When I bought it, I hoped for a masterpiece, but all I smelled was a lab-made rose, nothing more. Yes, it smells of rose, but very softly and nothing else. The good thing is that you can use it to accentuate this scent in other perfumes, mixing it as a note or accord.

Arrived today and although I hesitated slightly, it smells fantastic. Initially, there’s a lot of rose, but after 10 minutes it transforms: the rose recedes while the musk and clove come forward, all very fresh. I enjoy mixing perfumes, and this gives a masculine twist to scents like Aramis Leather or Le Fumée by Miller Harris, which are earthy and balsamic. Very pleased with my blind buy. Recommended for all ages and climates, with excellent longevity and sillage.

Arrived today and although I hesitated, it smells fantastic. Initially, it’s very rose-heavy, but within 10 minutes it transforms: the rose recedes and the musk and clove come forward, all very fresh. I wear it to blend with Aramis Leather or Le Fumée by Miller Harris, which are earthy and balsamic; this Rose gives them a different, more feminine twist. Very pleased with my blind buy. Recommended for all ages and climates. Fixation and projection are excellent.
