I picked this up on offer (though the idea came from the Roger & Gallet one), and I must admit I ended up buying the Molinard instead. It’s a lovely, playful and tasty fragrance, centred on apricot rather than the osmanthus flower. It has a milky note and, for me, suits a younger audience perfectly. Unlike the previous one, it lacks mystery; I was looking for that dryness or closeness to tobacco or tea that the Gallet scent offered, but with better longevity… I didn’t find it in the Osmanthus. It felt more like I was wrapped in fruit jam, and perhaps it’s my age that made me feel unconnected to it. I know several from this house, and without a doubt, their masterpiece is Habanita.
