Bad Intense by Diesel

I tried it today thanks to my friend Marcelo. A discontinued caviar gem. There are fragrances that arrive without making a fuss and end up marking an era. Diesel Bad Intense is one of those misunderstood gems: discontinued, yes, but far from being irrelevant. For many collectors, it’s an unforgettable olfactory memory, a capsule of sensuality with a rebellious attitude. From the first spray, a warm and spicy opening imposes itself, with that addictive blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, and a touch of citrus bergamot that isn’t aggressive but balanced. Then the unexpected appears: a caviar note, less salty than one might imagine, darker, like a whisper in a nightclub. The spicy heart blends with a base of floral tobacco and soft woods, achieving a sweet, enveloping trail, almost chocolatey, without falling into cloyingness. How about longevity? Surprisingly good. 6 to 8 hours with a moderate projection that doesn’t go unnoticed, ideal for night outings where what’s sought isn’t just to smell good but to leave a mark. It’s not for first dates. It’s for those who already know who they are, for those who’ve had enough of clones and are looking for something that says more with fewer words. And if you don’t know it… I invite you not to let time bury it without trying it at least once. A decant might be enough to understand why some never forget it.

Indeed, it smells similar to Invictus, I think it’s due to that specific sweetness; it seems both brands use the same compound (another Diesel scent also reminded me of Invictus). It smells good and has decent performance, though it’s not a beast. To my taste, the sweetness is at the limit: it’s very sweet and at the same time heavy. Definitely, I’ll only use it for cold night outings.

Unfortunately, it’s discontinued, one of my favourite perfumes. Originally gifted when my collection consisted of the typical scents of the time: One Million, Invictus, Black XS, or Boss Bottled. Bad Intense reminds me slightly of the style of Invictus Intense, but woody and chocolatey; I can’t describe it better. What I can say are the sensations: this EDP has quite good longevity, considering how long most designer fragrances last nowadays. It’s sweet and very well-liked, creating great impressions. When it launched in 2017, you’d ditch the typical One Million, Invictus, 212 VIP, or their Black, and it was very comforting to smell rich and sweet, perfect for a party. I won’t lie to you, it was a hit; there was no occasion where a boy or girl wouldn’t ask about your perfume because of how good you smelled. All of us interested in perfumery know how good it feels when someone says that to you. Fixation: 9, you can still smell it on clothes days later. Projection: 8, strong initially but fading gradually, yet quite intense for the first 4 hours. If you find it in a local perfumerie that still has some left, and you’re looking for something with nocturnal vibes and a touch of treachery, different from what currently dominates the night in Spain (those Versace Eros, Pure XS, 212 VIP, DG K, or Sauvage), I truly recommend acquiring it. It will be something different from what the scents in your area are used to. It might sound strange as it was a fragrance that went more unnoticed than others in its target audience (and probably caused its disappearance), but whether it’s because of the moment in my life when it was gifted to me, what I liked, and the memories it evokes, I can affirm it will be one of the fragrances I remember for the rest of my life.

I bought this perfume after watching my friend Bofifa’s video, and I can’t thank him enough. It’s a fragrance that can boast of what Armani Code Profumo wanted to be but couldn’t: an intense scent (not in projection), with a character that is as much seductive as it is dominant. One must credit the dominance of the caviar note, which gives it a deep, dominating character, not suitable for those who prefer easy-going perfumes. It starts strong for the first two hours before giving way to a scent that stays in the background, launching occasional bursts to remind you it’s still there. If you were left wanting more personality in Code Profumo or Burberry Rhythm, it’s worth trying this Diesel Bad Intense, as it’s easily associated with a rogue personality, a true Rude Boy.

A proper beast, perfect for going out at night; it’s among the best there is. It’s seductive, potent, and long-lasting. Its trail and longevity are top-notch.

Versatile, practical, and reliable. Exactly the fragrance a young man needs who seeks a masculine, sensual, seductive aroma with ‘Bad Guy’ vibes. It’s composed of simple accords that highlight masculinity twice over. If you have this fragrance and good intellect, you’ll surely steal as many kisses as necessary. Fixation: 8.5/10. Projection: 8.5/10. Masculinity: 9/10. Sensuality: 7/10. Total score: 8/10.

I respect but don’t share the previous reviews. This perfume smells superb, it has body and character. For me, at least, it lasts on my skin for about 7 hours, with the first hours being absolute madness in terms of projection and trail. Little or nothing has been said about this perfume, and the truth is it’s worth having in the collection. I recommend it 100%. I’d give it an 8 out of 10.

I was expecting to find a cloying, fishy smell, but there was none. I haven’t tried its predecessor, but this one hasn’t interested me at all. I must have a numbed nose, because despite how different their pyramids or families are, most launches still smell the same to me. Here too, I notice that strange, omnipresent sweet vanilla playing a very prominent role, to the point that I don’t even know if Anthony Blake is going to appear at any moment to tell me it’s all in my imagination. The opening is pleasant, generic from the very first minute, quite sweet with citrus. The caviar note is less salty than one would expect. I see it perhaps better integrated than in others, but it results in something somewhat sour, damp… I don’t think it does anything that less striking notes can’t do. It fades quickly. In the development, the blend is light and slightly fresh, with impressions of eucalyptus and incense. A fairly oriental spicy ensemble but not too warm. The dry-down is very sweet and mainstream, but perhaps not as dense as Pure XS. I don’t see this as either salty or animalic… The scent didn’t please me, but I admit I was somewhat conditioned beforehand. Its advertising spot is one of those that makes me feel ashamed (at least the Boss Bottled ads, for example, talk about other things), and besides, I don’t like sweet perfumes with caviar (they make me think of those amateur dishes of supposed high cuisine where the blends don’t work for me). It performs very well, this does approach what I consider an eau de parfum. I put it on at 6 am with less than half a sample, and by noon it was still leaving a trail. The first two hours are quite intense. It projects well and fixes well. Longevity is durable. As for the aroma, I think there are more interesting options to get lost in the mud of fashion, but I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quite youthful, nocturnal perfume with good performance at a very good price. 5/10.
