Here, the notes that ‘throw the best’ are the cypriol, cedar, ambered labdanum, and that creamy touch of cinnamon and saffron. It’s a proper stunner: spicy, very animalic and… sweet, that’s what I feel. It’s a challenging fragrance, one of those where you’re not sure when to wear it, but you end up doing it without a care because… who cares what… you…? Just kidding. All that aside, this sits quietly for 8-9 hours and you smell good wherever you go; I vouch for it.

The opening is mostly pepper. There are many notes, saffron, cinnamon… but what I find most is a very harsh and strong pepper. As it dries down, the incense picks up strength and becomes dominant. Around it, woody and balsamic notes give it a smoky and dry character. The longer it goes on, the sweeter it becomes, but with a very slight sweetness, if it’s there at all, always in the distance, like a light at the end of the tunnel. The nagarmotha goes hand in hand with the incense. 20mars2022 is a difficult fragrance to wear. I like it, it’s very natural and I think it has good quality, but I’m not sure when to wear it. For cold climates and perhaps the evening, but not for elegant events or when you want to feel sexy, because it’s not sexy at all. I find it unisex, perhaps a bit more masculine. It sits a bit to one side if it’s Nasomatto’s Afgano Negro, but less sweet, or like some Come de Garçon perfumes. It’s a very pleasant olfactory experience for the collection, very different and original, but not for frequent use, at least for me. Scent: 7, Longevity: 9, Sillage: 7, Value for Money: 5, Versatility: 5, Originality: 9, Overall: 7.5.
