  1. Electimuss Aurora is decent, but feels like a rehash. It smells like Portrait of a Lady mixed with L’Homme À la Rose by Kurkdjian: heavy on the rose with oud and saffron. The oud kicks in after a few minutes, adding warmth. Although marketed as unisex, I find it leans slightly feminine. It works for day or night, provided it’s not too hot.

The name sounds like a film, but the scent feels decades old. Nowadays, it makes sense as rose isn’t used quite the same way, and saffron dares not be too intense for fear of offending. Some might say it smells of an older, charismatic, and ‘dangerous’ woman. I believe it’s unisex for men who aren’t afraid of rose. It’s not a sweet or musky rose&oud; it’s a ‘dark’ rose with more personality than Toy Boy. I’d like it to last longer and project more to make an impression, but in this house, the trail is light, though it sits decently on the skin.

  3. Another typical rose and oud blend. Rose dominates initially with patchouli and musk. Minutes later, the oud emerges, smelling soapy and elegant, more suited to day, feminine, and casual wear. Projection is moderate; I’d give it a 6/10.
