Mayar by Lattafa Perfumes

I’ve worn it for a week and it’s still testing me. Very acidic, beyond citrus, with a sweet touch. It doesn’t suit me; it lacks sweetness and delicacy. On an empty stomach, it gave me nausea due to its strong, stinging nature. I mix it with sweet scents, layering with Ralph, and then I tolerate it. I’ll rescue its freshness. 100% for summer and daytime.

Fruity, spicy, with a bold and striking opening… then it settles into a more subtle fruit and a fresh rose. Quite a bit of projection and trail; it lasts about four hours projecting before settling close to the skin.

I saw many reviews saying it’s a dupe for Angel Nova, which piqued my curiosity, so I ordered it. At the first spray on my wrist, I thought of Very Good Girl. I put one on each wrist and felt it was 90% similar to VGG. I have no complaints; lovely aroma.

It’s a delight; it made me happy when they gifted it to me. Although I won’t declare it, it has a clear passionfruit note at the start and grapefruit afterwards, very fresh. I’m surprised by its longevity; it’s been six hours and I can still smell it when they move their arms. Upon drying, although it’s very similar to Mugler’s Angel Nova, it recalls the discontinued The Beat by Burberry, one of my favourites, though I’m not sure which note. Recommended, summery, feminine, clean, cheerful. I adore it.

Litchi, litchi, and more litchi. It smells nice, but it’s a super linear fragrance; I can’t detect the other notes. For the price, it’s acceptable, yet it feels very synthetic. I wear it on routine days when I don’t want to smell special, just something familiar, because there’s nothing particularly interesting about it.

I love it; I get a very juicy and acidic litchi note; it’s one of my summer favourites. It has excellent projection and longevity; with just a little, people will turn to look at you when you enter a room. I adore it and the bottle is divine. I barely notice the roses, which I like because it gives it a vintage touch. It’s definitely in my top 5.

I have owned the Mayar for seven months. It is a linear fragrance: it opens fruity with a strong lychee and raspberry note, then fades and softens, yet on my skin it never changes or evolves. I must say, this is how it behaves after months; initially, it had evolution, with a rose and powdery nuance that I preferred. It lasts about three hours, then becomes very soft and skin-close. It is a rich scent, but I would not buy it again.

I tested it in a perfumery (on blotter) and thought it was incredibly rich. I bought a decant just in case and, as I usually do, sprayed it ten times on the first try. On public transport, a woman in front of me had to turn around and cover her nose due to the intensity (apologies, ma’am), and I eventually grew repulsed by the sheer intensity. Now I find it repulsive. Mind you, it is not a bad perfume; it is sparkling, super juicy, full of raspberry and lychee, and outrageously sweet, with just a hint of acidity. I can’t recall ever smelling a perfume so sweet, even though I love gourmands. However, I am simply repelled by such sweetness; one thing is testing it on blotter for a moment, another is wearing it. I tried wearing only three sprays, but it still feels too invasive. If you are considering buying it, bear in mind that it is super sweet and invasive, and you will feel it all the time.

I had high hopes based on the reviews. The opening is very juicy; that blend of lychee and raspberry even made me hungry. The problem was that it left my skin feeling sticky; I had to use a handkerchief to wipe it off. Nevertheless, the scent persisted for a very long time, mainly the rose. It is a rich perfume if you prefer fruity florals where the rose stands out; otherwise, you are on the wrong path.

Spectacular on the opening, heart, and dry-down. The opening is sparkling with predominant lychee. Then, in the heart notes, the jasmine remains alongside the raspberry and lychee. The musk feels powdery. By the end of the longevity, which lasted six hours on me without needing to reapply, it is still there. Projection is moderate to wide. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

It’s a 99% dupe of Mugler’s Angel Nova. This one doesn’t envy the reformulation much as it’s fresher and fruitier; it lacks that woody base that ages it. It’s an explosion of raspberry and lychee from the opening to the dry down, adorned with floral notes. 100% for this summer if you’re a lychee fan and want something coquettish and fun. Super economical, long-lasting, clings to clothes, and has a wonderful trail. It doesn’t give headaches like Angel Nova, although some can’t tolerate lychee.

Mayar screams youth and fun! It’s sparkling, reminiscent of Angel Nova (though I haven’t tried the EDT, I can imagine it that way). Ideal for heat: striking yet not heavy. I’m sold!

I love it, it’s sweet and fresh at the same time. I live in a tropical climate and it works brilliantly for me. In the opening it smells like passion fruit (I suppose it’s the lychee mixed with raspberry), then in the dry down the raspberry and flowers remain. I think it’s versatile; it lasts 6 to 8 hours on my skin. It’s not cloying; it’s one of my favourites!

I have an extensive and varied collection, from discontinued pieces to the most economical ones, and I must say this is MY FAVOURITE. I love it, I love it, I love it. The lychee is very noticeable, which is my favourite fruit in both taste and smell. I love its longevity: about 10 hours on me. I truly love it! ❤️

I bought it blindly for its low cost and notes of raspberry and peony, which are my favourites. In the opening it reminded me of a creamy, fruity paracetamol fever syrup from when I was a child, exactly! Then, half an hour later, an acidic, jovial aroma, probably the lychee similar to passion fruit, but I don’t like how it settles on my skin. After half an hour, that stinging aroma fades and turns into a soft, barely perceptible sweetness, fresh but like any citrus body mist; I don’t feel it’s sweet, nor do I detect much raspberry or peony. It doesn’t last long on the skin. It’s lovely on clothes, but I wouldn’t buy it again. I would prefer to try Angel Nova, Tresor Midnight Rose, or Very Good Girl Glam, as I’m looking for more longevity, trail, and, above all, to feel the raspberry, which I didn’t detect in this one.
