I absolutely love it! It’s distinct, elegant and warm, featuring woods and spices that transport you to exotic places. It’s nothing like YSL’s Opium; The Water Brand version is softer, more fleeting and delicious. Very versatile, perfect for winter but I also enjoyed it in summer. People kept asking what my skin and hair smelled like, delighted by that Bossa Wood. It has such a chic, unique touch. It’s addictive… between Tropica and Bossa Wood, I struggle immensely to choose; both take me to far-off lands. I adore them! And Audrey, the woman behind this alcohol-free perfumery, is a true delight.
Of the three The Water Brand launches, this is the only one I haven’t added to my collection. While I adore the other two, this one doesn’t speak to me. It smells of indeterminate spices and woods, lasting around 7-8 hours but with very soft projection. Although the other two in the line work brilliantly on me, even better than many standard perfumes, this isn’t the case. Scent 5/10, Longevity 7.5/10, Sillage 5/10, Value for money 4/10, Versatility 3/10, Packaging 7/10. Would I buy it again? No.
On my skin, it’s a spicy, warm and woody bomb with a fruity and exotic twist, very different from current trends. I love it; it’s totally unisex. Ideal for autumn: not for summer, and intense cold would kill it. Performance is medium/low; it can be short for many, but I wasn’t expecting more given it’s a water-based formula. I wouldn’t buy it now as I already have others from the same line, but I like it very much and appreciate its originality. It’s refreshing to smell something different now and again. I invite you to try it; it’s worth it. Hoping they launch more!
