Love Me Only Me! What a gorgeous scent this extract is: a creamy, talcum-dusted violet sharing the spotlight with a very prominent rose. Lilac opens the show, and then the two recreate the masterpiece. It’s dramatic, with a metallic opening that recalls the harsh reality of the First World War, the weapons, and those bittersweet goodbyes of lovers separated by conflict, yet with the hope of reunion. That hope softens the metal, bringing to the fore those nostalgic, powdery notes of violet, lilac and rose, finishing with vanilla. A deep, amber vanilla that removes the metallic edge of the first few minutes. The more it settles, the more spectacular it becomes. It has great character and, like most Caron fragrances, retains a certain DNA link with Or et Noir and Pois de Senteur.
