A truly brutal perfume from this Arab house. The bottle is metallic with embedded stones, featuring an Arab-inspired design that is simply gorgeous; it comes with a glass applicator and exudes luxury, making the packaging alone worth it, though the liquid itself is a perfumer’s masterpiece. Initially, it smells of fruity wood, which I adore and which defines the fragrance. In the dry-down, that woody note is gently composed, as if seasoned with fruits and spices, evoking memories of Arab patisserie, particularly a sweet I ate in Egypt: a date, almond, and fig pastry wrapped in candied fig leaf, a delicacy this perfume brings back to life. Then the essence turns creamy, with a subtle jasmine that adds floral notes without being overpowering, because here the woods shine with a captivating animalic touch that I love—sweet, creamy, and enchanting, as if there were a faint, volatile vanilla framing a heart of smoked cream, exquisite and never cloying. I absolutely loved it and was surprised by it, but the day I tested it wasn’t the right one: today it’s 30°C, and with such heat and humidity, a perfume like this isn’t the most appropriate, yet it remains a true gem. It’s generally a night scent, perfect for cool nights year-round, or for day and night in winter and autumn. Completely unisex. The longevity and sillage are immense; with the applicator well-wrung and just a gentle touch on the skin, it lasted over 10 hours like a charm, and even after showering, if I press my nose close enough, I can still catch it. If you enjoy oriental scents with a gourmand twist, you must try it, and given the price, it’s an almost certain purchase.
