1826 opens with a spiced patchouli and very soft cinnamon, perfectly balanced with some standout white florals. But when the heart notes fade, the dry-down of amber and musk is disappointing: soft, unstructured, and lacking longevity. Beautiful opening, poor finish. Rating: 3.5
A very unusual opening, smoky and almost like burnt wood, with a medicinal touch that fades quickly. After ten minutes, the florals and spices make an appearance, alongside a constant patchouli and earthy, incense-like woods. The ginger really shines, and the dry-down is unique, though I can’t see myself wearing it. I’d say it’s unisex and classy, but it’s not for me. Medium longevity, strong sillage at first, and a hint of deodorant spray that confirms that medicinal note.
It smells like those pestiños and torrijas from Holy Week in Andalusia. Although it’s not gourmand, that blend of orange and cinnamon is pure magic. Of course, it’s not for everyone, but it has its place.
