  Of the Bamboo line, I only like the original, not the regular Bamboo Water, but I liked this Exotic even if it doesn’t fascinate me. It opens fresh with bamboo and grapefruit, then cardamom takes centre stage and remains throughout the development. Pepper and sea water don’t stand out, but they provide that aquatic tone that lasts until the end. There’s a pleasant synthetic vibe with musk and leather, finishing with cedar and balsam fir for a woody facet. It’s not a masterpiece, but it’s pleasant and on my skin has correct longevity and projection. At this price, it’s a good bet for daily wear in spring and summer, and not bad for the rest of the year.

  Projection and trail are weak, noticeable within a few hours, but it makes sense for summer or daily wear without being intrusive. It’s fresh and pleasant; bamboo dominates at first with a sweet grapefruit note, soon followed by cardamom and black pepper. I don’t detect the salty marine note others mention, but it finishes with leather and cedar accented by musk. It’s very good, but like the rest of the line, it deserves a more affordable price.

  Received this as a gift; initially, it lasted just two and a half hours, but after letting it settle for a few months, it now lasts six hours with decent projection. It’s quite sweet, with bamboo dominating strongly at first before yielding to cardamom and pepper, making it much richer. I wouldn’t buy it at this price in the UK, but once aged, it’s a good fragrance.
