  Although it’s a very soft version of Alien, it’s at the same time very rich. I use it, but it doesn’t last nearly as long on the skin; its notes are fine but very light.

  A fairly assertive take on the original Alien, which already has its followers and detractors. I’m among the first to admit it’s a very artificial and plastic fragrance, but that’s the Mugler magic, that vinyl and synthetic finish. I like Alien a lot; it doesn’t drive me mad like it does for others, but having it close to me doesn’t bother me at all. Sunessence is like a summer version with lots of the original, that woody and ambered jasmine that people hate so much, but here they add lemon; the result is quite ugly because it smells like mistletoe, lemon Fanta, and those restaurant hand wipes you use after devouring a kilo and a half of frozen prawns. Basically, it’s not exactly about delicacy or poetic evocations… To put it plainly: it’s the same Alien as always with an extra dose of sour, vinegary, and very salty lemon.

  I’m a huge Mugler fan and adore almost their entire catalogue, especially the Alien line, but I have to confess this version is the worst for me :'( It’s a brutal dilution of the Alien EDP with an overdose of artificial (and very sour) lemon that smells like Lysol and floor cleaner. The longevity is only 2-3 hours with poor sillage, and sadly it’s as expensive as everything else from Mugler. I think they’ve already released more than enough versions of the same thing…
