I own this perfume and have noticed it smells very different on my skin compared to the A&D Le Secret 2014, which I also wear. Bal d’Or feels less fresh, as if it carries a touch of golden frost; the patchouli is intense and the scent sharper. To me, it feels like the nighttime version of Le Secret. At first, it smells identical to Rihanna’s Rebel Fleur de, but as it dries down, those blueberries and subtle florals emerge, though the patchouli remains present. The longevity is six to eight hours with a medium-to-strong trail thanks to that patchouli. There’s a fresh note from the tea after two hours, but for me, this is an autumn fragrance—perhaps I’m exaggerating with winter, but it certainly marks a difference from its sibling, which is a total fresh and delicate summer scent.
