The 2015 edition is less fruity and more milky than the previous one; in the mid-stage, it reminded me of horchata, hehe. The trail is good, but the longevity is short compared to the 2014 Eau Sucré. As I’m not a huge fan of fruity notes, I confess that this 2015 version is much better than the 2014 one, as they’ve toned down that note to give prominence to the meringue with a sparkling touch, which I believe is the sorbet.
This 2015 version is less fruity and more milky than the previous one; it reminded me of horchata in the mid-stage. The trail is good but the longevity is scarce compared to the 2014 Eau Sucrée. As I’m not much of a fan of fruity scents, I say this 2015 is better than the 2014 because they reduced the fruity note, giving more prominence to the meringue with a sparkling element I believe is sorbet.
Truly sugary, sparkling, even spicy. Extremely sweet, but not a standard sweet; it’s ‘spicy-sweet’. Lasts very long on dry skin, days.
Truly sugary, sparkling, even spicy. Extremely sweet, but not a usual sweet; as I’ve said, it’s ‘spicy-sweet’. Very long-lasting on dry skin (days).
This flanker is a beautiful gourmand with the Angel DNA, giving it something special. Definitely a ‘spoilt brat’ version by Daddy Angel: a delicious bomb of red berry meringue where the berries and blueberry are very perceptible. It’s a heavy and persistent scent, lasting over 12 hours. A lovely gourmand: as a whole, it smells like a good red berry cake, like a fine fruitcake (which gives it a festive air). Gradually, the separate elements of meringue and caramel emerge, along with some bitter chocolate notes. One perceives a heavy plum liqueur, more akin to an extraordinary Jerez wine (like Pedro Ximénez), heavy and extremely sweet but mind-blowing. The base notes that linger are like white chocolate biscuits with a very present pink pepper. It’s a very festive, winter scent, nothing ‘Eau’, incredibly beautiful, like walking into a fine dessert pastry shop. Definitely for young people aged 25 to 35 with character but without ceremonial formality. It invites fun during a good chat with someone who embodies the essence of what Angel says in its flankers.
This flanker is a gorgeous gourmand with the Angel DNA, like a naughty girl version created by Papa Angel. It’s a bombshell of meringue with red fruits dominating; the berries and blueberry are very perceptible. It’s heavy and persistent, lasting over 12 hours. It smells like a fine red fruit cake, a festive fruitcake. Gradually, the meringue, caramel, bitter chocolate and a plum liqueur similar to Jerez wine (Pedro Jiménez) emerge. Heavy and extremely sweet, yet mind-blowing. The base notes are white chocolate cookies with pink pepper. It’s an aromatic winter scent, nothing like an ‘Eau’, incredibly beautiful, like stepping into a fine patisserie. Ideal for young people aged 25 to 35 with character, unpretentious, who invite fun and good conversation.
I own both the 2015 Angel Sucre and Angel Fruity Fair; I adore them both! Although I lean towards Sucre, it is just a touch sweeter, fresh, with a perfectly acidulated fruity scent. It’s sparkling, cheerful, youthful and delicious. You want to smell it all the time! It lasts around six hours on the skin and days on clothes. Despite not being warm or creamy, it has such a different and rich scent that it feels sensual without being overwhelming. Pleasant and it doesn’t bother anyone.
So sweet, so caramelised and fruity it feels like a delicious slice of cake. You don’t know whether to wear it or eat it. Like almost all of Angel Mugler’s fragrances, I absolutely loved it.
It was my first Mugler perfume; I bought it blind. At first, I didn’t like it; it didn’t offend me from the bottle, but on my skin, it smelled like vomit. I tested it on my sister, and on her, it smelled delicious, so I forced myself to wear it until I got hooked. Now I love it: it’s unique, that sweet patchouli blend. It adapted to my pH, smelling like freshly baked pastries and macarons.
Now that the cold has arrived, I’m enjoying the last sprays of a shooting star: Sucrée. Following Croisière, it’s the best flanker from Angel. A wonderful, playful juice with the acidity of red fruits contrasting against meringue and caramel, and an unmatched patchouli and menthol dry-down. What a bottle? A fantasy in cobalt with sugar inlays. If you’re a fan of gourmands with a zesty twist, don’t miss it.
Without a doubt, the opening is red berries. What caught me by surprise is that after ten minutes it shifts to a burnt caramel/vanilla/hazelnut note, slightly charred but absolutely delicious. It’s linear, lasts six or seven hours on skin, and the trail fades after an hour. I loved the dry-down; it smells of burnt vanilla, like a fireplace. Here it’s 30 degrees, and I think it suits winter better, though I’ll keep wearing it.
There’s no doubt, the opening is red berries… what surprised me was what remained after 10 minutes: it completely changes to a slightly burnt caramel/vanilla/hazelnut, but very tasty… And it’s also linear. Its longevity is 6 or 7 hours on my skin, and the trail (after an hour) is already quite low. I’m pleasantly surprised by its dry-down; I loved the skin scent… a burnt vanilla that I personally find reminiscent of a fireplace. In my country, it’s summer with 30 degrees, so I feel it will perform better in winter. Although I’ll continue to use it a couple of times this season.
I just tried it this afternoon on dry skin and on my skin, and I’m surprised by the reviews; to me, it smells purely of anise, I detect nothing else, which seems odd. Does anyone else experience this?
Isabel, try the 2016 edition; it’s a completely different beast: fruity, super sweet, and gorgeous. Perfect for summer, worn lightly. What I notice most are the red berries with cream and patchouli in the base. What a pity it doesn’t last longer.
Isabel, perhaps you tried the 2016 version which is different. It’s fruity and sweet. Beautiful. Beautiful for summer, wearable. What I feel most are the red berries with cream. The patchouli in the base. Precious. Pity it doesn’t last a lot.
