Descripción

Angel Eau Sucrée 2017 by Mugler is an oriental vanilla fragrance for women. Launched in 2017, this composition was created by perfumer Dorothée Piot. The top notes evoke a sorbet, citrus, and red berries; the heart reveals a meringue and caramel; while the base notes settle on a foundation of vanilla and patchouli.

If you love sweet and gourmand perfumes, this limited edition is a luxury still available. Where the original felt like candied patchouli, here a trendy red fruity sweetness shines with incredible creaminess. The ripe, syrupy red fruits leave a trail of tart with cream and caramel. It’s brilliant for day and night wear, with superb longevity and a trail more pleasant than the original Angel, which feels more aggressive and rigid. Ideal for young (and not-so-young) people who want to smell indulgent and appetising. It suits warm months well as it’s less dense, but its great virtue is that attractive fruity note. I like it: it’s fun and sensual, and the price is good, matching its huge potential against the watered-down releases that are now rising in price.

Top perfume. I absolutely love the red fruits, especially that sugary note that smells like unrefined raw cane sugar; it fascinates me. It’s sweet but not cloying. It lasts longer than the Classic Angel, although it’s more of a spring-summer scent, ideal for cool nights out with friends. I paid a bargain and I’m surprised by how long it lasts and how beautiful the bottle is, I suppose because I won’t be able to get another one. What a pity.

Top-notch perfume. I absolutely adore red fruits, especially that sweetness which smells straight of unrefined sugarcane; it fascinates me. It’s sweet but not cloying. It lasts longer than Angel Classic. While it’s for spring and summer, it’s ideal for cool nights out drinking with friends. I paid a bargain for it and I’m surprised by the longevity and the beautiful bottle; I suppose it won’t be restocked, what a pity.

  • Arrived yesterday by post. At first, it smells of bitter citrus with sugar, but within an hour all that fades and only the sweet, sugary scent remains. In the dry-down, it’s that sweet smell with a touch of red fruit. It’s good, it lasts and projects decently, but it’s nothing special for me; it has nothing to do with the original Angel. It’s very wearable, daily and timeless. I recommend it for casual use, though it falls short for special occasions.

  • Arrived yesterday by post. Initially, it smells of bitter citrus with a hint of sugar, but within an hour, all that vanishes, leaving only a cloying sweetness. In the dry-down, it’s just that sweet note with a touch of red fruit. It’s decent, long-lasting and projects well, but it’s nothing special to me; it has nothing to do with the original Angel. It’s very wearable, everyday and timeless. I’d recommend it for casual use, but it falls short for special occasions.

  • I love it!! I have in my collection the Angel Sucrée 2015 limited edition, Angel Fruity Fair 2018, and this Angel Sucrée 2017. I must say that the 2017 version is tremendously similar to the 2018, although it has two or three different notes. It’s a cheerful, youthful, fun fragrance! Very wearable if you like sweet, fruity, and fresh scents. Strawberry red and whipped cream (or meringue) stand out; it’s an aroma that makes you feel happy and positive. In my humble opinion, I see it for young and not-so-young people, for the day, and in spring and summer, although it wouldn’t go amiss on a cool autumn day. It has good longevity on skin and much more on clothes; its sillage is medium-high but not invasive. It can be used for everyday wear and social commitments, such as meetings with friends, semi-formal office lunches, or family dinners. It truly smells delicious! But it’s better to try it before buying it, as with all fragrances. It’s happened to all of us that we buy blind after reading good reviews, only to find it doesn’t match our taste or pH; it’s happened to me several times. Boo!! ☹️

  • I love it! I already own the 2015 limited edition, the 2018 fruity fair, and this 2017 version; the 2017 is very similar to the 2018 but has distinct notes. It’s cheerful, youthful and fun, very wearable if you like sweet, fruity and fresh scents. Red fruits and whipped cream stand out, an aroma that makes you feel happy and positive. In my opinion, it suits young people best, for daytime wear in spring and summer, though it also works well on a crisp autumn day. It lasts a long time on skin and clothes, with a medium-to-high sillage but without being overpowering. Perfect for everyday wear or social commitments like lunch with friends or a family gathering. It smells delicious! But do try before you buy, because sometimes you buy blindly based on good reviews and it just doesn’t suit you due to your pH or taste; it’s happened to me several times!

  • I can clearly detect the Angel DNA, though it’s much more wearable. It’s very sweet but fresher. You can detect the whipped cream and red fruits, and the patchouli feels lighter. I see it as suitable for summer; in fact, I’ve been wearing it for the last month. It’s one of those perfumes I could particularly use in any season, day or night, provided I don’t mind going unnoticed. The longevity is magnificent on me, around 12 hours, with a good trail. The bottle is absolutely beautiful, as expected from Mugler. Scent 8/10, Longevity 10/10, Trail 8/10, Value for money 7/10, Versatility 7/10, Packaging 10/10. Would I buy it again? No. EDIT: For some reason, the scent has ended up tiring me a bit. Now I perceive its opening as very mentholated. Perhaps I’ll swap it.

Super sweet; it resembles those little sweets I can’t remember the name of, the heart and star-shaped ones I used to eat as a child; I like them very much ❤️

Consciously, I’m becoming addicted to Mugler, and specifically to the Angel range, from which I used to run so far. First came Angel Muse, then its toilet version, and now this Angel Sucrée. Super wearable, nothing intrusive, with a distinct DNA. On my skin, those sweet notes fade quickly to a discreet caramel and notable red berries, until it vanishes, turning into a very woody aroma. It was a limited edition but can still be found if you look hard enough. I loved it very much, but unfortunately, it doesn’t have good longevity on my skin. I think it would be perfect for a summer night. I’ll continue with Mugler, and perhaps one day I’ll dare to try the original Angel, which I haven’t tested yet.

For me, it was a patchouli punch at first; it made itself known as soon as I took it out of the box. Afterwards, I sensed that sophisticated note of sugar and little lollipops. It’s stuck to my skin and doesn’t want to go; I think we’ll be great friends, as the original Angel is my signature fragrance. Definitely recommend for all year round and at all hours; it’s an all-rounder perfume, but being a Mugler, it’s not to everyone’s taste. I bought it blind, but I know there will be those who should try it first. Overall, a beautiful perfume; I recommend it. It’s not cloying, it doesn’t invade, but oh, that patchouli—I adore it; trying before buying isn’t a bad idea.

  • Perfumaniaca 23

At first, a hit of patchouli straight from opening the box, but then everything changed: that sophisticated blend of sugar and little sweets stuck to my skin like a child asking for attention. I think we’ll be great friends, because the original Angel is already my signature scent. I recommend it for all year round and any time of day; it’s an all-rounder perfume, although being by Mugler, it won’t suit everyone. I bought it blind, I know some prefer to try before buying, but generally it’s beautiful. It’s not cloying or overpowering, though I adore that patchouli, so trying before buying isn’t a bad idea, as I said.

  • Sweet and fresh, caramel, meringue, citrus, subtle yet with presence, sensual and warm. It can be worn at night, or by day if you want to stand out; it’s not for daily summer use. I recommend it; I’d buy it again. It lasts a long time and has its own identity.

  • I’m a lover of the classic Thierry Mugler Angel, but its derivatives always arrive late, when they’ve already been discontinued… This Eau Sucrée 2017 has finally entered my life. I like it! It has that gourmand DNA, but much fresher and lighter, talc-like, with a cosmetic touch reminiscent of classic Revlon perfumes from the 80s, like makeup or compact powders. You can tell it’s fruity; I detect citrus. I don’t sense the sorbet, meringue, or caramel; instead, I get a vanilla that barely lingers and patchouli. I imagined this ‘sugary water’ to be much sweeter, in the style of the classic Angel, but no… it’s sweet but very restrained. I didn’t expect it to be like this, but it doesn’t disgust me. I would have liked it to be just a little sweeter, living up to its name. It has a dry-down that reminds me of its successor, Angel Eau Croisière 2020; I imagine that’s because they’re cousins. Although I didn’t expect it, it hasn’t disappointed me. I like it! It’s versatile; you can wear it whenever and in any season because it’s not overpowering. It has presence, but unfortunately, it doesn’t last long on my skin. It’s very pretty and has something that makes it addictive.

  • I’m not sure if I like it or dislike it. It’s very sweet, yet I sense citrus and menthol. On my skin, it smells like super-sweet lemon and sugar mints. It lasts for hours, like the whole Mugler range.

  • libhortiales

Absolutely not pleasant; it made me dizzy and gave me nausea. I sold it straight away; the meringue and sorbet notes make me gag 🙁

  • What a pity! It wasn’t worth being the daughter of the original Angel; it’s just another run-of-the-mill perfume.
