Dorothée Piot is a perfumer who currently works for the well-known fragrance house Robertet, where her expertise in natural perfumery is highly valued. She received her training at ISIPCA and has also worked with other well-known fragrance houses, such as Symrise and Charabot.

Dorothee’s portfolio includes fragrances for a wide range of brands, including Amouage, Azzaro, By Kilian, Escada, Mugler and Lalique. Among her best-known creations are Amouage Memoir Woman, Olfactive Studio Chambre Noire and Mugler Angel Eau Sucree.

When asked about her favourite scents, Dorothée mentions the earthy scent of summer nights, the scent of black truffle, freshly grated lime and cut hay.

Dorothée’s passion for perfume began when she was 15, after meeting a perfumer through a friend. She mentions Clinique Aromatics Elixir as a fragrance she would have liked to have created and Marco Polo as a historical figure for whom she would have loved to create a fragrance.

As for her working process, Dorothée likes to work on several projects at the same time to highlight different aspects and correct the balance. She also believes that cooking can help improve a person’s sense of smell and their appreciation of fragrances.

As a lover of chypre fragrances, Dorothée compares them to a walk through a beautiful garden, where their notes are revealed little by little. She acknowledges changes in the chypre fragrance family due to ingredient restrictions, but believes they still manage to keep their modern and sensual appeal at the same time.
