  • It’s a copy of Cool Water, more accessible and with shorter longevity. It doesn’t smell identical, but has great similarity; acceptable for daily use.

  • A fresh and sporty fragrance, a pleasant aroma for day and evening, citrusy and woody with very soft floral notes. I see it for informal use, for exercising; it’s not intrusive, it makes you feel clean, and isn’t cloying for others. Manly for the price, it’s excellent: $10 to $15, 6 to 10 sprays, ideal for working out or spending an afternoon outdoors.

  • A somewhat fresh fragrance, not overly so, with very prominent green notes and a distinctly woodsy air. The standout notes are the greens, a hint of citrus, and everything forest-related: balsam fir, oakmoss, cedar, not forgetting the musk and a touch of jasmine. I disagree with those who claim it’s a copy of Cool Water; in reality, they only share the green notes. Furthermore, Cool Water focuses on the aquatic and fresh aspects, whereas this is only ‘a little’ fresh and very woodsy, something the other lacks. I used it since high school, but I believe it suits older people too, up to 45 years old, in short, it’s for all tastes and ages. Suitable for temperate climates, neither too cold nor too hot. I could say it’s like a Tsar or Quorum, but lighter and fresher, less dense. In summary, it’s a cheap fragrance but with good performance, medium trail and good longevity, at least 6 to 8 hours, that was in my time in the 90s, I don’t know if reformulation has changed anything.

Upon smelling it, I imagine myself in a damp forest, with that scent of trees freshly soaked by rain; it feels like pure freshness and youth.

  • francisnatanaell

It outdoes Davidoff’s Cool Water by a mile, following the same line but feeling like pure summer.

  • While it does bear a slight resemblance to Cool Water, as previously mentioned, the only thing they share are those green notes. Coty’s Aspen is far greener and woodier, offering a fresh touch without being over the top. Picture a forest brushed by a gentle autumn breeze. It’s a top-tier fragrance at a price you simply can’t beat. Yes, it’s very green, but that freshness makes it ideal for any young adult. Perfect for a laid-back look with a jacket and jeans, and especially great for that transitional period between autumn and winter.

  • Aspen For Men by Coty… well, what can one say? For going to the gym, running, or doing physical activities, it is very good. I use it as a phenomenal aftershave for that purpose. One cannot ask more of this fragrance.

What a pleasant fragrance! This aroma calms you and transports you; it is fresh and clean, ideal for Sundays after a shower and enjoying at home, or, being a cologne water, for the gym. Ridiculously cheap price: 9 euros. Aroma 9/10, Projection 6/10, Longevity 5/10, Price 10/10.

I received this fragrance today as a commission for a cousin in the US, very interested in the reviews highlighting its similarity to Davidoff’s Cool Water. It arrived in a gift box with two 50ml EDT bottles. I wondered how much it cost, but she generously told me she was gifting it to me; it was a Christmas present and I gave one to my brother. Its opening is very intense upon spraying, but decreases drastically in minutes. It feels fresh, clean, and pleasant, one of those harmless ones to use always. It has an obvious resemblance to Cool Water, but is more synthetic, with volatile and ephemeral projection, staying only at skin level. I do not find that cucumber note of Cool Water that seemed bothersome but intriguing to me. A negative aspect is that it smells like soaps, deodorants, and detergents, making it generic. Despite everything, I give it a positive rating. It is fulfilling, timeless, smells good, and is pleasant without impressing. For its modest price, one cannot expect more longevity. Aroma: 8/10, Longevity: 5/10, Projection: 5/10, Versatility: 8/10, Price: 9/10.

  • Seeing the previous review, I confirm that it was definitely reformulated, and a lot. I knew and used it extensively in the mid-90s, just like the Cool Water; back then they had nothing to do with each other, their only similarity was a slight freshness, with Cool Water being much fresher. Then its sillage was medium throughout its life, and with over-application could be high. Although it has always been economical, it did not feel synthetic as mentioned today. To avoid going on too long, you can see my other review below.

I received this fragrance today as a gift for a cousin in the US, who was very interested in reviews stating it resembles Davidoff’s Cool Water. It arrived in a gift box with two 50ml EDT bottles. I asked how much it cost, but she, being generous, told me she was gifting it to me. Better said, it was a Christmas present and I gave a bottle to my brother. Its opening is very intense upon spraying, but drops drastically in a few minutes. It feels fresh, clean, and pleasant, one of those harmless scents suitable for any time of day. It has an obvious resemblance to Cool Water, but it’s more synthetic, with very volatile and ephemeral projection, staying only close to the skin. I don’t find that cucumber note in Aspen that Cool Water has, which I found annoying but intriguing. A drawback, as rightly said, is that it smells very much like soap, deodorant, splashes, and detergents, making it somewhat generic. Despite everything, I give it a positive rating. It’s a fulfilling fragrance, timeless, smells good, and, without being overpowering, is pleasing to any nose. For its modest price, one cannot expect more longevity or projection. Scent: 8/10, Longevity: 5/10, Projection: 5/10, Versatility: 8/10, Price: 9/10.

I must say that this fragrance has not pleased me but nor has it displeased me, a neutral opinion. It begins with a strong and fresh hit, even pleasant, but then mutates into a spicy phase that made me think of pepper. Upon seeing the notes, there is no pepper, so it must undoubtedly be the coriander, which is what predominates after the freshness. Well, I bought it for its price and because I needed a gift that I was sure he would like. By the way, the final phase reminded me of Carolina Herrera for Men due to its spiciness.

  • It is a disappointing fragrance that lasts only a few minutes on the skin before becoming almost imperceptible. From the first spray, you feel the freshness of coriander, lemon, and green notes along with a lot of alcohol. Although it is cheap, it is not worth it because it lacks quality in its ingredients and development, plus it is outdated.

I see negative comments about this perfume, which to me is rather silly, obviously it is almost identical to a Cool Water. I see it as ideal for those just entering the world of perfumery or wanting to feel fresh. Upon application, the first thing you notice is lime, moss, and cedar; it smells like being surrounded by pines in a forest, fresh, cold, and pleasant in the morning. As it dries, the notes lighten and are no longer so heavy. I recommend it for working out, going to the supermarket, or walking in nature. It is not a romantic or striking perfume, it is for feeling clean and well. Price: 10, Longevity: 6 hours, Sillage: medium-low. Overall, I give it an 8 for being versatile and suitable for daily use, ideal for not spending on expensive perfumes.

  • I believe it has been reformulated, yet it remains pleasant, although it lasts very little. It was my first fragrance, and I remember receiving my first compliment while young with it. It quickly transports you to a wooded place; it is a green scent, and as its name suggests, ASPEN, I feel as though I am in the rocky mountains of Colorado surrounded by trees and fresh weather. For its price, it is a purchase I cannot regret, even if it only lasts a couple of hours.

  • Exquisite aroma, but with scarce projection and longevity. Being aquatic and woody, it blends brilliantly with Cool Water or the classic Paco Rabanne. It would be a triumph if they produced a more potent version, even if it cost a little more.

  • Uglydreamer92

This fragrance was a classic for my father, an authentic enthusiast of fresh, woody, and musky scents. However, after the reformulations Aspen for Men underwent, he threw the old bottle away because he felt the longevity and trail had collapsed below average. In the end, what can one expect from a common forest scent selling for 300 pesos and far from its prime years?

  • I discovered it a couple of years ago, so I don’t know how it would have been back in 1989. I bought it blindly because of its resemblance to Cool Water. The opening is incredibly good; they are quite similar, though this one is greener (without being heavy, maintaining a fresh and clean aroma). Despite not being high quality or having the best ingredients, it recreates the image of a damp autumn forest, which impressed me. Its performance is low, but as an EDC it sits quite well on my skin. The trail and projection are short: powerful for the first 20-30 minutes, then skin scent, but it doesn’t matter. For the price, it doesn’t hurt to reapply (the 118ml bottle can be had for under £10). In summary, a recommended purchase if you like Cool Water or the green, clean aromas of the 90s. Cheers.

  • I’ve used it since I was a teenager, back around 1989-1990. Like most, it has been reformulated. I’ve read it’s a clone of Cool Water, which is entirely false. They may share common notes, but they are very distinct. Aspen is a proper fougère, super green and fresh. Personally, I like it more than CW. It doesn’t have the performance of old times, but for the price, it’s correct and a very good cologne in terms of value for money.

  • In my opinion, superior to Cool Water. Perhaps less longevity, but luckily less mass-produced. With a 10ml bottle in my pocket, it was my signature scent at 18.

  • This little gem was bought by my girlfriend a couple of years ago and it’s a delight. Refreshing and pleasant, I wear it on spring and summer nights; it reminds me of the warm days of 2020. Effervescent, green, refreshing, and very subtle. It’s worth it.

  • LUIS HEINSTEIN

Fresh, classic, and very economical. Nothing bad can be said about it; it’s one of those ‘3 B’s’: good, beautiful, and cheap. Similar to Cool Water, but without the tobacco note that I love so much. This Coty Aspen is highly recommended.

  • beta peta mau

A fragrance I would recommend blindly based on its price. It’s fresh and autumnal, transporting you to a damp, cool forest in the morning. Although somewhat similar to Cool Water, it defines itself and ends up being different. If you’re into fresh scents, I recommend it.

  • A perfect example that cheap doesn’t have to be bad. It’s one of my favourites, ridiculously cheap, and worth far more than its price tag. Fresh, minty, breezy, aquatic; it smells more of the sea than the mountains. It resembles Davidoff’s Cool Water, but the longevity is as if you’d bought a designer bottle.

  • richieparfum

I thought it was discontinued; I used it in 1992-1993. I remember it was a very good perfume; I was working as a DJ at a nightclub and received several compliments. A girl asked if I was wearing CK’s Eternity, but it bears no resemblance whatsoever; it smells wonderful. If I see it again, I would buy it again.

  • César24

You can search for niche fragrances and end up disappointed, or look for designer scents and also be let down. But this cologne is a marvel. Perhaps it doesn’t last more than 6 hours, but it works, mate, you can wear it without fear. For sweltering heat, pair it with this and you won’t regret it. At my job, I’ve received more compliments with this than with any other. Sincerely, I prefer it to Davidoff’s Cool Water (though it’s spectacular too, just on a different path). The moral of the story: cheap doesn’t mean bad, and expensive doesn’t mean good.

  • When hunting for niche scents, you can be let down, just as you might with designer brands. But this cologne is a marvel. Perhaps it lasts six hours, but mate, it projects fearlessly. On a sweltering hot day, wear it and you won’t regret it. At work, I’ve received more compliments with this than anything else. Sincerely, I prefer it to Davidoff’s Cool Water (which is spectacular, but takes a different path). The moral of the story: cheap isn’t bad, and expensive isn’t always good.

  • Uhhhhhhju! What a marvel, highly recommended fragrance! If your taste leans towards Cool Water, it has a captivating citrus opening, a neroli that gives it a delicious, I’d say pacifying, balance, and juniper and wood notes that blow your mind. Despite being from 1989, honestly, it’s one of those scents that never goes out of fashion. Casual, smelling of cleanliness with a touch of cautious elegance. 100% recommended.

  • Val_blackmontt

Undervalued gem. A hidden treasure in the world of perfumery that serves when you don’t know what to wear, for daily use or after a shower. The price is incredible. It has good projection but poor longevity, but nothing that reapplication can’t solve; it’s cheap, so it doesn’t hurt the wallet. It reminds me a lot of Green Irish Tweed, but Creed’s version wins by a long way in ingredient quality and draws sighs. Scent: 9/10, fresh vintage that stands out from current trends. Longevity: 6/10, scarce (1h 30m) but can be reapplied without issue or financial pain. Projection: 8/10, totally noticeable. Price: 11/10, not even a 10; the 100ml bottle cost me 200 pesos ($10). Personal opinion: a vintage perfume totally worth it.

  • Dan.alcaide

An extremely masculine fragrance at a laughable price. Although it’s categorised as old school, I find it timeless. Easy to wear and addictive.

  • JuanCanada

Let me share something interesting: when I first bought it, I was disappointed by its longevity and projection. I applied it generously (10-15 sprays) and within three months, I had reduced the bottle to 50%… But ohhhh boy!… ohhhh surprise! A year later, taking it out of the wardrobe, oxidation gave it superpowers. Now it lasts quite a while (7 hours on skin and 24 on clothes) and is noticeable if someone gets close. Occasionally, it releases bursts that remind you it’s there. Yesterday, before meeting my girlfriend, I used my usual 10 sprays. I cycled for 90 minutes, and upon arrival, she noticed it instantly; it stuck to her neck, and she couldn’t stop sighing. Those of us in this world know that wind erases scent from the skin, but despite the cycling, it accompanied me until night. Just a real testimonial proving that the most expensive isn’t always the best. It’s informal, for outdoors, wild, smelling of a clean, fresh forest, for the day, not the night, easy to use, and with a price that’s hard to believe: 15-20 USD.

  • Theradiologizt

The best purchase I’ve made in a long time. Timeless, practically self-contained, fulfilling, simple, innocuous in scent but offering very notable pragmatic masculinity. Outside trends and classic at the same time. Three words?… cold green mountain.

  • ChoParfum

Very good. I thought it would be a typical old-fashioned, dated perfume, but not at all. I was surprised: it smells very fresh, like walking through a forest after the rain. Absolutely, 10/10. And let’s not talk about the price; it’s a steal, well worth taking home two ✌🏽.

  • A rich aroma. More people older than me wear it; I’ve smelled it intently for over 30 years and only just bought it. Coincidentally, I use Little Tree (Black Ice) in my car, and when I spilled it on the carpet, I used a Meguiar’s Odor Eliminator with Black Chrome scent. This perfume smells exactly like that: Black Ice pine and Meguiar’s Black Chrome. I imagine it was a bombshell in its day; now it smells like a car, rich and delicious.

  • Delicious! The first spray takes you to a cold, dense green pine forest just after the rain. The only drawback is the longevity: it lasts a mere whisper. But given the price, you can reapply without any pain. It’s a timeless classic that continues to earn compliments.

  • Exquisite fragrance. At the start, it’s green and fresh, then it becomes slightly sweet. As it dries down, the evolution sounded familiar: I had it next to my other perfumes and hadn’t realised… it was the same ANIMALE for Men!

  • Spice of Aspen for Men is an aromatic, woody, and green fragrance. It opens with a fresh, citrusy burst of lavender, geranium, pine, juniper, and moss, transporting you straight into a damp conifer forest. It’s perfect for all seasons and any occasion, whether formal or casual. It smells like 80s classics such as Green Irish Tweed or Cool Water, but at a much cheaper price with decent quality. Everyone likes it, though older generations seem to prefer it most. Lasts 5-6 hours on the skin with a subtle trail.
