  1. A timeless classic. Citrusy and floral, it’s fresh and simple – one of those that never fails but still has its own unique stamp. I’ve worn it for years and it always suits me.

  2. I tried this when I was 11 and haven’t touched it since until I saw a video recommending this EDT. I ordered it on Amazon for the price, but I think I’ll return it; even though it’s cheap, it’ll just take up space… it’s a product of its time and to my nose, it smells outdated and, above all, sad (for me). I can almost see myself again with my rucksack on my shoulder, full of apathy waiting for the break, hehe. If you like it, enjoy it; it’s a very clean scent, though to me it has a certain lacquer note, perhaps it contains aldehydes.

  3. I started using this EDT a couple of years ago because an older woman in my family gifted it to me and I didn’t want to be ungrateful. At first, I didn’t love it as it wasn’t my style (I usually go for gourmands and sweet scents), but after a week of wearing it, I started feeling very drawn to it. The trail isn’t much, but it became a very pleasant perfume for everyday wear: fresh, interesting and clean… it reminded me of the perfumes of the ‘cool girls’ when I was a child. I grew so fond of it that I eventually bought a second bottle, despite initially saying I didn’t like it. It brings back very lovely memories.

  4. I just saw that this Prêt à Porter is listed among the ‘discontinued’… WHAT??? I’m in total despair. I’ll rush to stock up today.

  5. Citrusy at first, then leaves spiced flowers after a few hours. It’s clean and citrusy but has body. Used to the current invasion of vanillated and sweet perfumes for women, this reminds me of men’s fragrances. I like this EDT, its concept and the sense of modernity it conveys, but it’s a nineties modernity of cool girls heading to the office in minimalist suits and kitten heels. And afterwards, happy hour with their equally cool and cosmopolitan friends. It also reminds me of the song Vogue by Madonna. It’s an energising fragrance that adds dynamism, but also clean and neat. These days it suits a ‘clean girl’ style, with the typical look of a white tee, an oversized black blazer, wide-leg jeans and black kitten heels; hair neatly pulled back in a bun and a glowy, clear complexion. Perfect for daily wear. You can find them for around 10 euros for 100 ml. Not bad at all. And it turns out they have a whole collection of cities, but here on Fragantica they don’t seem to be listed? Tokyo, New York, Berlin, Milano, Paris. Around 12 euros. I’d love to try them but I don’t know where! They don’t seem to have them in Primor or Druni.

I haven’t used this one, but I have used another from the same brand, which is the Paris. Personally, it’s very rich and addictive, lasting hours on my skin and clothes. I wanted to try the Tokyo but it didn’t have good projection.

I keep buying it whenever I see it and I’ve lost count of the bottles I’ve used since it launched (and since I discovered it). I feel that this fragrance still maintains its original spirit despite some reformulations. It’s clean, transparent, with a spicy opening, citrusy and sharp, finishing with woody notes. A classic. Ideal for hot and humid days (though I confess I wear it all year round). As for its projection and longevity, obviously it depends on everyone’s skin pH… on me it performs excellently.

Although it’s declared as feminine, I’ve never hesitated to admit that for many years it has been part of my wardrobe. And it will stay there until the day I die. I enjoy it in the most absolute intimacy. From time to time I apply a couple of sprays to the back of my hand, close my eyes and my mind automatically transports me back to my adolescence. In those moments, nostalgia washes over me for those years and I reconnect with happiness for a few minutes. Because yes. Because Prêt à Porter was the fragrance most teenagers wore in the late 90s. The one used by that girl you liked so much and who you died to see at every moment, even though in her presence your legs turned to jelly and your stomach shrank to the size of a grain of rice. Because Prêt à Porter was the fragrance of that girl you kissed for the first time on that starry summer night on a dark park bench, right at the moment you felt the world crumbling beneath your feet. You can have fragrances purely out of melancholy, simply to remember times or people who marked your life and made you happy. Regardless of gender or age. Regardless of the fact that the happiness you felt in those moments has been unwound by time little by little until you become aware that nothing will ever be as before again.

  9. It has a spicy opening, but then leaves a blend of citrus and flowers. It’s very lovely for summer. Ideal for those of us moving away from very sweet perfumes, without becoming unisex.

Citrusy and super easy to wear, though I reserve it for staying in.

Prêt à Porter, the fragrance that dressed you! If my memory serves me right, that’s exactly what the TV ad said with a lady getting dressed. Perhaps the slogan suggested something more enveloping, but it’s a daily citrus and fresh scent ideal for the heat. Apart from CK One, it reminds me of Adolfo Domínguez’s Bamboo Water and his discontinued Green Tea; both share notes like freesia, cardamom, and oakmoss. Clean, without being musky, with good longevity and a soft sillage, it imparts that pleasant aura. It’s very unisex and, if it’s already cheap at Mercadona, on Amazon they have it at a bargain price. Well worth it.

  12. An accessible cologne that follows the path of the innovative perfumes of the era with an identity of ethereal and effervescent cleanliness. It recalls CK with its aura of soap-free cleanliness and pure oxygen. For lovers of the aseptic cleaning juice that is Calvin Klein’s Water.

  13. A very nineties perfume, from the era of CK and unisex. It’s a sharp and energising citrus, ideal for days of oppressive heat.

  14. My older sister used to wear it for a while and I liked it a lot. Then, in Argentina, I stopped seeing it in perfumeries. To my surprise, I saw it again a few weeks ago in a popular discount store in Córdoba. I stocked up for the summer so I’ll be richly perfumed in my daily office life. It doesn’t tire, has a citrus touch but not purely citrus, with an almost perfect combination of soft flowers that makes it delicate. Very wearable, fresh and recommended. It never fails.

  15. I use it for training, as it doesn’t last more than an hour on my skin and has zero projection. I bought it because they said it projected; perhaps the ones from the 90s did, but these reformulations are nowhere near that.

  16. I suspect Prêt à Porter owes its name to the Robert Altman film because the font on the poster is suspiciously similar. The film is from 1994 and the EDT from 1996, so for me it’s clear. Let’s be realistic: the bottle doesn’t reflect the glamour of the film, nor its pretentiousness, as it’s a major brand’s doddle. The only thing that was a visual pleasure was the introductory scene with Marcello Mastroianni in the Dior shop in Moscow with bottles of Poison and Dune. The bottle doesn’t do it justice; it speaks of supermarket shelves, where it is now mostly found. However, Prêt à Porter is like those overqualified people whose excellence doesn’t call attention because they don’t dress in white tie and when they speak they demonstrate they are above average. It’s an EDT that surpasses the expectations of its appearance and price. I’m fascinated by the tamarind: before closing the Marks & Spencer stores in Spain, I bought a bar of soap from their brand with that bitter citrus aroma with a sweet nod close to quince. Prêt à Porter opens with bitter citrus and pepper. Does that not sound good? The result is spectacular and exultantly optimistic. The spices take the lead over the sandalwood and base moss, nothing intrusive, although the latter adds an earthy air to the dry down. The flowers soar over the ensemble and remain hidden, standing out when the violet leaf and roses dry. Prêt à Porter proves to be the daughter of its time: citrus, pepper and flowers. More nineties, impossible. Excuse this comment, probably sacrilegious, but I find it more interesting and multifaceted than CK One and, in performance, it beats it hands down. I have it on at 14:40, I put it on at 8:00, I smell it while writing and it lasts days on clothes. As for versatility, except for evening events, it serves as much for a torn shirt as for a suit. It looks splendid with jeans or a suit, for the office, shopping, cinema, gym or outdoors. Few environments resist it and it is tremendously adaptable. And it still enjoys appreciation because that’s what a well-made perfume has. As often happens, we don’t know who created it. How unfair.

  17. Prêt à Porter was a sung-for gift I received for my birthday or Christmas, dates very close together. It announced summer, an ideal season to use it. At first I didn’t like it much, it reminded me of the mythical CK One of which I’m not a fan, but it had a tiny feminine touch that I appreciated. Over time, that powerful and spicy citrus won my heart. It lasted more than three hours on my skin, a triumph because my pH likes to annihilate fragrances. Today I consider buying it again; its price is incredible for everything it offers. It lifts spirits and is a great companion on hot days. The three Bs, without doubt.

For me it’s a citrus with a woody touch. Very different from other citrus scents I’ve smelled before. It has body.

  19. I had to squeeze past the manager at Mercadona just to try the Pret a Porter tester. What a nostalgia trip to my younger days; back then it looked so chic, but now it smells citrusy and fresh, perfect for summer. It lasted all afternoon and I woke up with the scent still in my hair. A bargain, I wonder if I should buy the bottle.

  20. What a beautiful fragrance! It’s super fresh, musky and floral, with a spicy kick from the pepper and nutmeg that gives it character. It smells clean but rich, not soapy. On my skin it’s citrusy and feminine, not unisex as they claim. It’s ideal for daily wear, versatile: going out with friends, outdoor dates or even work. It’s not intrusive, gives me energy and a good mood. In Argentina it’s cheap and lasts about 5-6 hours. Plus, I shared it with my mum, so it holds a special place for me. I recommend it 100%!

Floral aroma with citrus, very 90s, like Calvin Klein One. I used to wear it at uni, but the longevity was very short.

  22. I first wore this perfume when I was 16. A friend got to it first and used it herself. Today, seeing it in the chemist for under 5 euros for 50ml, I didn’t hesitate to buy it. As soon as I sprayed it, those moments came flooding back from that time, with her handkerchief or her borrowed jacket on chilly early mornings. It smells fresh, clean and pleasant, perfect for summer. It’s young and simple, but my memory makes it perfect just as it was that summer we discovered it. At first it smells of grapefruit, then a sweet citrus with orange and finishes with white flowers and lots of pepper. It reminds me of Treselle or Perceive from Avon, though it’s not the same. The cardamomo is barely noticeable. Over time it becomes creamier, though the sandalwood isn’t very prominent. The trail is moderate and lasts 5-6 hours. For the price, you can’t ask for more. I love reliving that era. I’ll add it to my collection. Scent 7.5/10, Longevity 5.5/10, Sillage 7/10, Value for money 9/10, Packaging 3/10. Would I buy again? Yes.

I used to have yellow Adidas deodorants and this perfume has that same vibe. It’s ideal for the office: it lasts, you notice it but it doesn’t overpower, it’s ‘corporate’ and the price is a laugh. It’s my first bottle and when it runs out, I’ll buy another without a second thought.

Fresh and pleasant fragrance at a very affordable price. I’ve loved it since I was little and use it a lot in summer. It’s a must-have for me.

  25. It was one of my first teenage fragrances. I wore it at night and the next day it was still on my skin and clothes (even in my hair when I didn’t wash properly). I remember it as feminine but leaning towards unisex. The opening is citrusy and as it dries down it leaves a spicy and woody scent. At the time, I thought that for being cheap it had personality compared to my friends’ perfumes.

  26. They gave me this fragrance and it’s one of the ones that suited me best. It smells elegant, fresh and enveloping, it would even suit a man. Fresh at first and spicy for the rest of the day, it has great persistence and becomes subtle throughout the day in an exquisite way. I’d choose it again for the scent and its versatility.

  27. I discovered it in the 90s and used it a lot; it gave me energy, vitality and confidence, so much so that it pushed me to move house. I left it then, but in 2020, during the lockdown, I desperately searched for a fragrance that would make me feel good. I had an urge to find ‘The’ fragrance and refused to go back to Pret a Porter several times, until I thought: why not? I tried several before deciding. If I can help anyone, I’d say I chose it again and I have no regrets. It gave me that energy, vitality and comfort I loved before. I fell in love again: it lasts more than 6 hours on my skin and, being accessible, you can use it without holding back. That fresh opening that smells like a bouquet of flowers, then settles and becomes special and enveloping without being invasive. It’s unforgettable.
