Good quality for the price; this Polish brand offers a solid proposition and I found it here at a ridiculous price, under $10. The scent is spicy, woody, aromatic, masculine, and has a certain formality, yet remains versatile. On my skin, sandalwood and labdanum stand out—a rare aromatic combo that places it in a classic area, more in the nineties style. Performance and projection are correct, given the sharp character of its wood; it’s neither loud nor overly sweet like current trends, but a traditional fragrance for those who enjoy aromatic scents. I’d say this Athletic Man smells more expensive than it costs; it’s quite dignified. Gentlemen won’t risk much with its price and would add it to their collection; it delivers even if it doesn’t aim to be more. Cheers.

I tested it and bought it: instant love at first sniff. It has everything I look for in a fragrance as it’s very versatile for daily wear. I’m quite reluctant to use aquatic, ozonic, citrus, or blends thereof unless they have a heavily spiced or woody character to give them depth. It’s difficult to find a similar scent; I doubt anyone would question what I’m wearing or compare it to another brand… I recommend it, but always test it on your skin first.
Dear wildkatzen: I’ve read both this review and the one about adidas carefully due to their aromatic similarities… I’m very interested in acquiring certain fragrances from this brand as I can find them at a liquidator at a very convenient price… While you’ve hit the mark in saying this is better than the other, I’ll follow your advice and share my impressions as soon as I can.

La Rive Athletic Man is the luxury EDP version of ADIDAS Active Bodies (Eau de Toilette Concentrate): it’s exquisite and has excellent longevity for the price-quality ratio, certainly a good investment. Now, the bottle has better design than the Adidas one, but it still lacks a bit more appeal or modernity, as the contents are very good and it’s just a matter of details. On a scale of 1 to 7, I give it 6.7. As always, if anyone wishes for the data privately, no problem; I’ll tell you about the others I’ve purchased. Cheers.
