It’s a characterful fragrance, not for everyone. Reminds me of Zara’s Red Temptation but with more punch and longevity. The opening smells of petrol, which is inevitable, yet strong and distinct. If you blend it with something sweet, particularly vanillas, it becomes truly unique. I’ve tried it with Eclaire by Lattafa and Delirium by Flor de Mayo, and the combinations are luxurious.
This is an absolute fiasco. It smells of burnt plastic, full stop. It lacks that signature burnt sugar note typical of BR540 dupes; it’s synthetic, weak, and soulless. There are better copies out there, such as those by Orientica or Untold. It’s an olfactory aberration that clings unpleasantly and weakly to my skin, typical of Mall Chino perfumes, although some Chinese fragrances do smell and last better.
I was looking for that ‘dentist’ scent associated with MFK’s BR540 Extrait, but I couldn’t find it. Perhaps because I didn’t know what to look for, but checking the notes, this Barakkat doesn’t contain ambroxan like the original. I’d say it’s a less piercing version of Club de Nuit Untold.
I’ve had this for some time and tested it in both cold and heat to form a proper opinion. The opening is alcoholic before the copied aroma emerges. It doesn’t disgust me, except for the plastic dry-down after a few hours. It has good longevity on skin and clothes. It sounds very synthetic, but I repeat, it doesn’t bother me, especially given the price. This and Satin Oud are among the best they’ve managed in this MFK series.
