Have you worn Bonbon Couture?

Tell us how it opens, how it settles on your skin, how long it lasts and when you wear it.

  1. I wanted to try La Capitale by Xerjoff, but I was wary of its strawberry note after several synthetic versions had let me down. After reading it resembled a fragrance of a friend’s and lacked strawberry, I took the plunge. I imagined caramel would dominate, but on my skin, it’s bergamot leading the way, alongside vanilla, patchouli, and sandalwood. I don’t detect the fruity opening, perhaps it’s too fleeting or my nose just can’t catch it. A pity, because it simply doesn’t work for me; the trail is soft and lasts only four hours, far less than on other skin types. Although I let it macerate and it smells lovely, on my skin it feels thin, so I haven’t kept it. I’m sticking with Curious in Control by Britney, which seems like a clone of Bonbon. I’ll have to seek out La Capitale again. Scent 6.5/10, Longevity 4/10, Sillage 3.5/10, Value for money 2/10, Versatility 2/10, Packaging 9/10. I wouldn’t buy it again.

  2. Destello'S de un Perfume

This perfume has me hooked on its potency, longevity, and compliments. The opening is a sweet, soft citrus, nothing to be alarmed by, although I thought I recognised it. After 15-20 minutes, super-warm and sweet white flowers enter, creamy from the caramel; it brings me a rare memory of LVEB. The patchouli isn’t earthy. The dry down is fire: rich, warm, creamy, sexy, and addictive. I applied it at 10 pm and my husband was clinging to my neck saying how delicious it was; the next morning I could still smell it on my arm. Important: apply it and let it dry; don’t rub it because the rubbed side smells different. If you breathe hot air over the neck, it reactivates and smells strong, as if freshly applied. It acts like a room freshener in the room for hours, and with just two applications, it’s totally worth it.

I bought a 50 ml bottle of Bonbon Couture. I started with a sample my mother had for years. One day I applied it without thinking, found it amusing, and took it home; almost every night I felt like wearing it before bed. I used it all up and didn’t even save any to smell the bottle. I experience it as a peach bathed in toffee caramel. A super-sweet jasmine accompanies the simple composition, making it addictive. In the dry down, there are effeminate touches given by the patchouli. It’s linear and lasts about five hours. I wouldn’t wear it out; I don’t feel identified with such feminine and elegant scents, but I melt when I wear it on my wrists to sleep. It smells a lot like La Capitale by Xerjoff, and I love it.

Bonbon Couture is a charming, sweet, and sexy gourmand; not too formal but full of magic. This flanker is sweeter than the original due to the vanilla; the opening smells of candied orange peel, sugary, and intense. It’s totally caramelised, giving a warm and creamy sensation, versatile for all year round. It lasts about 6-7 hours like the original, with a perceptible trail and an extra hour on skin. I’m a fan of Viktor&Rolf and I’m glad they’ve left this flanker; it’s beautiful. EDIT: I’m on my second bottle and I’m not quite in love with it yet, though I think I’ll make it my signature. You must try it!

Bonbon Couture is a charming gourmand, sweet and sexy, less formal but full of magic. This flanker is much sweeter than the original due to the vanilla; the opening smells of candied orange peel, sugary and intense. It’s completely caramelised, warm and creamy, versatile all year round. It lasts as long as the original, around six to seven hours, with notable trail and an extra hour on the skin. I’m a fan of Viktor&Rolf and I’m glad they keep it in stock; it’s gorgeous. EDIT: I’ve already bought a second bottle and I’m not quite smitten yet, but I think I’ll make it my signature. You must try it!

  6. It carries all the DNA of Viktor&Rolf; if you’ve heard of them, you’ll know what I mean. It resembles Bon Bon but is more intense overall, especially in sweetness. The caramel is more burnt or syrupy, less ‘toffee’ than the previous one. Here, vanilla predominates over peach, though it’s not the star; rather, it’s the caramel and white florals. I think I like it more than the original, though I’m not certain. It feels very high quality; you pay what it’s worth, but it’s a truly excellent gourmand perfume.

  7. It carries all the DNA of Viktor&Rolf; if you know them, you’ll understand what I mean. It’s similar to Bonbon but much more intense in sweetness and florals. Here, the caramel is more burnt or syrupy, less ‘toffee’ than the previous one. Vanilla predominates over peach, though the star remains caramel with white flowers. I like it more than the original, although I’m not one hundred per cent sure. It smells of high quality; you pay for what it’s worth, and it’s a powerful, delicious gourmand.

  8. Vistiendo Aromas

Bonbon Couture has enchanted me: the opening is fruity and slightly acidic, very similar to the original, but it evolves quickly into something sweet and creamy. It reminds me of a vanilla cake with whipped cream and peach, mmm, I love it. Drying down, it smells strongly of Flowerbomb, sugary flowers. It lasts at least eight hours; I definitely want to keep it.

  9. Vistiendo Aromas

Bonbon Couture has completely won me over: it starts with an acidic, fresh fruit note, just like the original, but soon turns sweet and creamy. Imagine a vanilla cake with whipped cream and a peach filling, mmm, brilliant. As it dries down, it smells like Flowerbomb—sugary florals. It lasts about eight hours; it’s definitely on my favourites list.

What a delicious perfume. I just bought it and it fascinated me; it has me completely smitten. It has excellent longevity and sillage, the DNA of the original Bonbon but with much more intense and sweet patchouli and vanilla. I love it and recommend it 100%. It’s expensive, but absolutely worth it.

What a delicious perfume! I just bought it and I’m absolutely fascinated; it has me totally smitten. It has great longevity and sillage, keeping the DNA of the original but the patchouli and vanilla make it more intense and sweet. I adore it. I recommend it 100%; it’s pricey but totally worth it.

  12. I liked this version more than the original Bonbon because it has a touch of vanilla that I adore. It smells like bonbons with a vanilla twist that I love. In short, I’ll buy it to add to my collection.

  13. It’s true that at first the patchouli hits you hard, but as it dries down it fades away, leaving the vanilla, which wasn’t in the original. It’s like the classic but with vanilla, how lovely!

  14. It’s true that the patchouli is noticeable at first, but it disappears as it dries, leaving a note the original doesn’t have: vanilla. It’s like the original but with vanilla, very delicious.
