  Chrome Summer 2013: I’ve just picked this up. Although it wasn’t a blind buy, I hadn’t been able to try it in my city since its launch. The sales assistant told me it was a special line release that they’d never stocked before, so I couldn’t resist and decided to grab it alongside the Azzaro Pour Homme Summer 2013. Now that I’ve worn it four times, I can share how this distinctive scent develops on my skin. It opens with a strong herbal and citrus note; what really stands out is the black tea with Egyptian papyrus and a subtle hint of bergamot. After ten minutes, the trail drops quickly from heavy to moderate, lasting a maximum of four hours, perhaps a couple more but very faint, becoming quite personal. After two hours, notes of grapefruit, lime and sea air emerge subtly, without losing the herbal strength of the tea and papyrus that are present from start to finish. I can’t distinguish any floral or woody notes; the stars are the herbal elements with light citrus and marine touches. Recommended for daytime wear in spring and summer; it might not be my favourite, but I already have another option that’s less citrusy for these hot days.

  A powerful, rich and addictive citrus scent that awakens happiness; it smells luxurious. This is my second bottle, which I picked up from eBay at a high price because it was a limited edition. It’s not for the shy, people tell me: ‘it smells so good’, ‘I love it’, ‘it smells different, super fresh and full of energy’. To me, it’s a forgotten gem; I’m one of the few who knows it well. It’s worth $130 without a doubt. If you get the chance, buy it because you won’t regret it; I felt duty-bound to review it as it’s limited and it blew my mind, just like it has for many others.
