I searched for it as an inspiration for Gourmand Coquin, which I haven’t had the luck to smell and doubt I’ll ever get hold of. The opening is a very realistic chocolate; the rum is noticeable for the first 10 minutes, then it dries down to chocolate, vanilla, and rose, all wrapped in spices. It’s sweet but not cloying. It doesn’t have much sillage, but I love it.
Bought it looking for a Guerlain dupe and what a find! Although I have a bit of the original, its price and unavailability forced me to try this, and now I don’t miss it at all. It’s a real dupe, but while Guerlain is flatter, Dua evolves: it starts with a rich, edible bitter chocolate, nothing like Nesquik or cheap bar scent, then gains rum notes turning it into a super indulgent moist cake. If you like gourmands, it’s addictive.
