A discontinued Azzaro fragrance. Citrus aroma that opens with very airy and fresh notes of yuzu, with a soft and honeyed touch of peach which is the best part of it. It evolves into floral middle notes of freesia, which feel somewhat synthetic and cheap. The entire batch dries down to a dominant woody accord of cypress with a soft and sweet aftertaste, due to the blend of amber and honey. The final sensation worsens and is not entirely pleasant: a clean, soapy, and creamy aftertaste appears in the background, reminiscent of Gieffeffe by Ferré. Perfectly unisex, for these times, ideal for summer, with moderate longevity and a soft trail. Rating: 2.5.
I had it as a teenager and loved it. Years later, I searched for it but it was discontinued; I went into a perfumery and only the tester was left, so I begged them to sell it to me and in the end, they did. I kept it for years without finishing it, wanting to keep a little bit in the bottle because I resisted letting it run out. But years later, I found it in stock again and bought three bottles. I still have a little bit of the last one and keep it like a treasure. Perhaps it is not the best cologne for many people; it is citrusy, fresh, soft, and with assertive touches; for me, it is the ideal scent, it puts me in a good mood, it doesn’t tire me, it smells clean, and for the price, it lasts quite a while, at least in my case. It doesn’t seem unisex; it is ideal mainly for spring, in fact, it reminds me of her. What a pity they stopped making it. I haven’t found anything else like it.
An explosive, dry, and bitter citrus opening, with something herbal that seems even rancid. After 20 minutes, that dry sensation fades and the cyclamen tries to make itself noticed timidly, struggling against the wave of citrus. At 45 minutes, there are herbal reminiscences that smell like celery to me (just like in DKNY Be Delicious or Salvador Dalí Laguna Maravilla); I can’t describe it exactly, but it is interesting, though nothing sublime. After an hour, only the cypress is felt. The scent gradually diminishes until it fades into a very soft talc, maintaining that synthetic herbal note that reminds me of how Laguna Maravilla dries. It is not unpleasant; it feels fresh and sparkling, not fruity, and on my skin, not sweet. It could be used for sport or the office; it is not aggressive, rather a curious scent that only someone very close (I see it as unisex) could perceive. In its final phase, which on my skin starts at 2 hours, unfortunately, nothing remains, only a talc-like smell. It is pleasant but forgettable. Perhaps my skin no longer has good chemistry with this type of perfume. A blind buy that didn’t work out, but at a very low cost, considering it is almost impossible to find anymore. I keep the experience of having known it.
Although more than 25 years have passed, I still remember the impression of discovering the first bottle of Eau Belle in the perfumery at El Corte Inglés. I loved its aquatic colour and its shape of chained soap bubbles. I thought it had to smell fresh, like a bath. However, I remember the bottle more than the scent, and I suspected the fragrance didn’t impact me as much as the presentation. Fortunately, I found a miniature in my collection. I wore it this morning and, at first, I didn’t smell the citrus, but rather something of bitter peach. I thought it had gone off until I read the review by @Ya-nu-Shi. Then, that aroma lasted quite a while above the flowers before blending with the cypress and cedar. I suppose that is why I remembered the bottle more than the scent. EDIT: I still think the miniature might be spoiled, because in its final phase, the ‘Belle’ description would have fitted it better.
A citrus fragrance with green notes that dries down to an aquatic finish. It smells clean and fresh without being intrusive. I wore it during my pregnancy and it gave me the sensation of freshly applied soap after a shower. It is kind and timeless.
I have precious memories of this perfume: my dad gave it to my mum for her birthday. It left a fresh, sweet trail, full of energy, joy, and a sense of cleanliness and softness. I would secretly wear it to go to school in the mornings. It was timeless, usable all year round. In the scent, I detected lots of bergamot, flowers, and cypress, which gave it a very aquatic touch. To me, it was a jewel, although I was too young to fully appreciate it at the time. It became my mum’s signature scent. What a pity they discontinued it; I could never smell it again.
