It’s a blend of iris, lavender and wood, very much in the Francesca Bianchi style. The longevity is eternal, as with her entire line, and it has a scent with great personality. I love it and I don’t think there’s a fragrance of hers I wouldn’t enjoy.
FB tends to generate love-hate reactions due to the audacity of her creations; in my case, I expected more from this fragrance, as she herself raised the bar. But to be objective, it’s a high-quality, well-executed scent with a certain versatility that doesn’t turn out to be a beast, perhaps never her intention. I detect three phases: an opening of creamy, almost buttery iris with citrus and fruity notes. Over time the iris softens and after half an hour the woods emerge, such as cedar and a dark oud, something smoky but shy; although it adds robustness, it seems to ask permission to enter. It’s not challenging or untamable. Perhaps I was hoping for a ‘The Lover’s Tale’ in an oud version, with a less dominant iris and more conciliatory, like the flanker of Interlude Black Iris that tries to tame the blue beast… I’ll keep waiting.
