Ideal for neroli lovers: slightly sweet, very delicate. I wear it in spring because it’s not intrusive but it is persistent. A truly exquisite and elegant fragrance!
The Fragile Eau de Toilette is a beautiful, overwhelming yet subtle and fleeting fragrance. From that era, it was the only one that held its ground with neroli: not creamy as it is now, but sweetened with raspberry and mandarin. It has a constant citrus touch that gives it a sparkling, fresh personality, with an ethereal elegance that you only catch when you smell it again. The Eau de Parfum was similar but sweeter and more intense. Today, when I find it in a perfumery, I remember how well it was packaged (two little bottles in a wooden box simulating a fragile figure). It brings back memories of getting dressed up and put together. What wonderful memories; it remains so beautiful. One of the best by Gaultier that I’ve had the pleasure to relive. ADDITION: very little sillage always, but after hours, that unmistakable scent of elegant, sensual flowers lingers. EDIT: happy with the last bottle, determined to use it even though it projects little, especially after smelling what they’ve done with JPG Classique.
Such nostalgia in this beautiful bottle, which truly deserves its own section. It’s a shame it’s so hard to find. Fragile is a floral-fruity scent similar to J’adore: both are white, sweet, and intense with fruit notes. However, in Fragile EdT, the mandarin and orange shine at the start (unlike the pear and apricot in J’adore). The neroli pulses softly in the heart of Fragile, whereas jasmine and lily of the valley dominate in J’adore. Although they share a concept, their notes create unique differences. In the Fragile EdP, the opening is spicier due to ginger and hints of anise, while the depth is sweeter and more substantial. Both are rich and interesting: a sweet floral with personality and a fascinating aesthetic.
