Blue Frank by F.O. is fresh, spiced, and electric; sparkling and ozonic. The citrus opening is fresh and slightly alcoholic for the first 10 minutes, creating a tension between the citrus and spice that gives it that electric character. A marine touch from oakmoss and musk adds a clean freshness. Behind it, aromatic lavender and melon add sweetness, though the melon sounds a bit artificial alongside the rest; perhaps the most natural notes are the pepper and lavender. It lasts almost two hours with moderate projection and trail at arm’s length. By the second hour, the aromatic lavender and sweet melon gain strength, blending well with the fresh spice that maintains the electric brightness; here the fragrance becomes more natural, though projection drops to skin scent by the fourth or fifth hour. The dry-down is spectacular: the leather, previously shy, appears out of nowhere and mixes with the oakmoss, giving it a sublime quality. It’s a bright, washed leather, nothing dark, paired with citrus that never fully disappears, with pepper and fresh spice lingering in the background. A fantastic dry-down that adds extra hours, modern masculinity, and sexiness. It reminds me a lot of Armani Code, but fresher and less sweet throughout the experience. Performance: moderate. The trail lasts about three hours, but the dry-down revives the fragrance with bursts of clean leather and spiced citrus, very pleasant. Without the leather it would last 5-6 hours, but it reaches 8 hours at skin scent. Climate and occasion: casual or semi-casual; not for formal events due to the synthetic and alcoholic opening. Suitable for intermediate to warm climates and daytime wear. Scent: 8/10, original for the melon and the blend of leather with spiced citrus, although the opening is synthetic. Performance: 8/10, I would have liked more trail. Longevity: 7-8 hours. Versatility: 7.5/10, nothing for cold or night, except summer evenings thanks to the dry-down, nor for very formal occasions. Price: 10/10, $17 (approx. 11,000 CLP). Final note: 8/10. It is rich, fresh, original, and versatile in temperate climates. Its weak point is the synthetic opening. An excellent option if you are looking for something like Armani Code, especially if it is the cologne version. It is not a clone, it is unique, although it has its similarities.
