At first, I’m slightly confused by a green bell pepper note, with that astringent, fresh quality that almost smells like cucumber. The violet leaves blend beautifully with a soft lemon and champagne base that doesn’t detract from those initial notes. It feels like a delicate cologne in terms of longevity and projection. Once the pepper fades, without diminishing the iris’s prominence, a bright mimosa emerges with green cypress and a powdery iris that doesn’t dominate. In the dry down, tonka bean and soft woods join the vetiver and iris for a solid finish, but it’s a shame because it doesn’t last long and has very little projection.
