Obviously, this somewhat delayed launch of the Jean Lee line is finally cloning Imagination, the strange thing is the olfactory pyramid they’ve loaded here, clearly misleading. Instead, the one we can find on Amazon indicates: Top: Citron, Calabrian bergamot and Sicilian orange. Heart: Tunisian neroli, Nigerian ginger and Ceylon cinnamon. Base: Chinese black tea, Ambroxan, Guaiac wood and Frankincense. Waiting for it to arrive in Argentina!
Of all the Imagination clones I’ve tried, it’s the most balanced, for me it’s perfectly in the center compared to the others; Normally they overdo the soap or smell almost like makeup because they get too powdery, or they get too sweet… In this case I don’t feel it sins from excess. I’d like to feel more tea and for it to last and project more (it’s one of those that require carrying a decant and reapplying 1 or 2 times a day). It’s very good for closed spaces because it’s not scandalous. I consider its best facet to be the drydown, it feels well made even though it doesn’t stand out for the quality of ingredients. Currently its price is high, around 50 dollars, if it drops to the level of the others in the Jean Lowe line ($35 or so) it’s a good buy. If you’re looking for something more noticeable and long-lasting, go for Kobra, if you need something warmer, fruitier and more jovial, go for Aqua Dubai; Full House if you want something elegant that, being unisex, leans more towards the feminine side. Marwa if you’re interested in the more masculine version, incense, spices, and somewhat dark woods. Mazaaj if you like more conventional and simple/flat perfumes while still retaining traits of the Imagination DNA. Sunrise On The Red Sand Dunes if you like soft and bright citrus that predominates throughout the life of the perfume.
What a marvel, it’s super balanced and good quality. Without exaggerating, I think it’s the best value-for-money perfume among the Arabic ones for daily use. I have like 10 dupes of Imagination because that DNA is my favorite, I also have the original obviously and in 200ml. This one in conspiracy with the original, I’d say it lacks a bit of sweetness and a bit of cinnamon since the original is perceived as a bit spicy in the opening and this one isn’t. For the rest, I think they are very very similar. Compared to other clones, the one from Jo mil and Marwa were the best for me and this Fantasme is a bit better than those two because I think it has the strengths of those, the opening very similar to that of Full House and the drydown to that of Marwa (creamy and calming). I bought it on Amazon for 27 dollars, I brought it through a casillero to Colombia and it’s ridiculous everything it offers. If I didn’t have any dupe, I would only have several bottles of this one. If you don’t like this perfume, then you won’t like the original either, and if this seems like a bad dupe to you, it’s because you’re not taking into account that the original costs 12 times more and is not 12 times better. With luck, it’s twice as good. 10/10
I just acquired it, and I’m testing it, but one thing is clear, the notes that Fragrantica publishes have absolutely nothing to do with the fragrance.
