  It’s a green that leaves you speechless, half fig tree, half laboratory. It doesn’t tickle your nose at first; it smells of pure chemicals, like acetone or an empty clinic. The opening makes you hesitate, as if daring an olfactory battle in the first few seconds. That oddity comes from the gorse, narcissus, and fig leaves, which clash to create something rough. The fig barely whispers and the narcissus gets lost in that abstract backdrop. But here’s the key: when it starts to dry down, everything changes and becomes much more wearable. The chaos settles, revealing soft, woody, and creamy notes from the sandalwood and musk, with a dry ash touch from the amber and guaiac that brings calm after the storm. Maisia isn’t easy or accommodating, but if you can endure those first strange minutes, it will surprise you and invite you to reconsider. I’m not sure if it wins my heart, but it certainly intrigues me. I don’t buy blind.
