  It’s an ultra-creamy version of Varvatos Vintage, so much so that at first it smells more of pink gum than tobacco; for the first two hours, there’s a noticeable gum note with a very subtle tobacco undertone, and even a freshness that would make it suitable for summer, plus a nod to the house’s Smoky Fig. Then the creaminess fades and it becomes almost identical to Vintage, lasting like this for about four hours before settling close to the skin. For me, it’s neither fully formal nor casual, and definitely not for sport. The trail is moderate during those first four hours before gradually fading. In the end, I stick with Vintage because it feels more sophisticated and elegant, whereas this one seems more undefined, leaning towards a barbershop style without quite achieving it. Ideal for intermediate seasons, neither too cold nor too hot; although it’s hard to find, the original Varvatos is better and easier to source.
