Mercedes-Benz Club Black Eau de Parfum is an oriental fragrance for men. This creation, launched in 2025, was designed by Olivier Cresp, Hamid Merati-Kashani and Fabrice Pellegrin. Its olfactive pyramid unfolds with elemi and Calabrian bergamot in the top notes; vanilla, musk and jasmine in the heart; and myrrh, Amberwood and Ambroxan Super in the base.

At first, you can tell it’s the more formal version of the original. Although it carries vanilla, here it’s not the star like in the EDT; it feels more resinous and has a dark touch. As for performance, it has less projection and longevity than the original, which isn’t surprising because that one was a beast (although I’ve read they’ve reformulated it). Still, it doesn’t fail and I’ve liked it, it’s just my style.
I’m a fan of the EDT and I picked up this new EDP; at first they seem like twins, 90% identical. The EDP is a bit more citrusy and less heavy; you can tell they’ve removed the incense, although the vanilla is still there, just less intense than before. Basically, I could say it’s better the other way round: that the EDT should be the EDP and vice versa, sounds crazy but that’s how it feels. They’re my favourites, this EDP is more versatile and the EDT a bit more for the night.

Super sexy, sweet and warm perfume made for winter. It invites embraces while watching the sunset or a movie in the car with your partner. It’s soft, relaxing, warm and mature vanilla. Although it’s 100% winter, it also works well on cool nights. It’s easy to like, though I feel traditional men’s fragrances might overpower it. Still, you’ll surely get compliments from women. I recommend it for 18 years and up. I give it an 8 out of 10: it’s delicious but doesn’t last long. Despite being an EDP, the trail fades after two hours. If you apply too much, it smells strong. Better to apply 3 or 6 sprays to last 6-7 hours. It’s one of the scents I’ve loved the most.
