I tested it yesterday at the shopping centre. At Zara, when I tried it, it gave me the impression of being talc-based with aromatic and green notes. It reminded me of a certain perfume, perhaps Gentleman Society. To clear my doubts, I went to try Society, but it lacked the citrus aspect of that perfume. My uncertainty was resolved when I tested Dior Homme Intense; they are 90% similar in the opening but diverge by 70% in the dry-down, and although undeclared, it has an iris reminiscent of Dior Homme. Longevity on skin is 4 hours with a moderate trail for the first two hours. It’s a fragrance categorised for women, but it can certainly pass as unisex.
It’s a pleasant fragrance for after a shower, like a second skin. It evolves slightly powdery. I bought it blind after an enthusiastic review claiming it was a beast mode perfume, but considering I enjoy discovering new, innovative, memorable fragrances, my definition of ‘beast’ is different. It’s a fragrance I recommend; non-intrusive and perfect for daytime. Soft and suitable for everyone.
First time I tried it, it didn’t quite suit me; it sounded too dusty and slightly artificial. But I decided to give it another chance, and after wearing it on my skin for a while, it transformed into quite a beast. By the time I returned to buy it, it had sold out, so I had to make a pilgrimage to several Zara stores before finally snagging one. I’d define it as a super elegant and sophisticated fragrance; it begins with a very dusty opening that gives way to an undeclared iris note. This blend is usually the hallmark of high perfumery due to its versatility and beauty. As it settles, the dusty touch softens, and the toffee note emerges, of course, along with the musk that helps the trail and longevity last long. Deep down, there’s a touch of vanilla and suede (undeclared) that gives this fabulous perfume a rounded finish. By the way, the name Merino (Merino Musk) comes from a type of virgin wool from the Merino sheep.
