It’s a spicy scent that brings to mind sunny afternoons, precisely the time of day I usually wear it. It’s not bad at all, but when I run out, I won’t be buying it again; I feel it’s a lovely experience but simply doesn’t attract me enough to keep it permanently in my wardrobe.

I’m young and this isn’t for me; it’s for people aged 35 and above, for truly mature individuals.

I’m young and this perfume isn’t for me. It’s for age 35 upwards, for properly mature people.

  4. One thinks of Avon and automatically imagines door-to-door salespeople or a mile-long catalogue for everyone. Mesmerize for men changes that image: it’s a serious, adult fragrance that offers a lot for its price. It’s well-constructed with performance that satisfies quite a bit. The fruity notes are complemented by sweet and spicy touches that give warm, sensual sensations, ideal now that it’s cold. It’s totally worth it. Surprising.

One thinks of Avon and automatically recalls the old-fashioned door-to-door salesmen or a thousand-page catalogue with products for everyone. Mesmerize for men changes the perception of this brand because it is a serious, adult fragrance that offers a lot for the price. It’s a well-constructed proposal with widely satisfactory longevity, where fruity notes are complemented by subtly sweet and spicy accents that create warm and sensual sensations, ideal for when the days are still cool or crisp. It is absolutely worth it. Surprising.

It’s not citrus; that lasts only a few seconds upon application before giving way to a creamy myrrh with warm spices, all wrapped in wood and a soft sweetness that showcases the evolutionary stages of a high-level fragrance. And all this for around £10. It suits men over 30 perfectly; it’s serious, elegant, and tasteful, exactly the opposite of what the ‘chav’ crowd seeks. The slight resemblance to Chanel Allure is due to the spiced myrrh, but I acknowledge that Chanel is far more refined and harmonious.

At first, it smells citrusy, but that lasts only seconds before giving way to a creamy myrrh with warm spices, all wrapped in wood and a soft sweetness that reveals the perfume’s stages. All this in something costing around ten dollars. It’s for men over thirty, a serious aroma evoking elegance, just the opposite of what the chavala is looking for. The slight resemblance to Chanel Allure is due to the myrrh, though I recognise that Chanel is more refined and harmonious.

  9. It sounds like a cross between Jaipur and Le Male. It smells of incense and vanilla, even though they aren’t declared. More than citrus, I’d describe it as oriental. If scents were times of day, Mesmerize would be dusk. I feel it’s more adult than youthful and more semi-formal than informal. I think it suits cold days much better.

  11. It’s a fragrance I liked among the few good ones from Avon. Medium longevity, a very original scent, very cheap, very good, and modern. I have to spray several shots on my skin (and some on my clothes) for it to last. I recommend it highly.

  15. The best Avon perfume carries a rare, contemporary adult scent, though the age range could start from 25. It possesses a base between bergamot and mandarin, classified as an oriental woody fragrance. It is good and economical; in my opinion, the best option from Avon.
