Descripción
Mon Guerlain Eau de Toilette by Guerlain is an oriental floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2018, this composition was created by Thierry Wasser and Delphine Jelk. The top notes reveal lavender, mandarin and bergamot; the floral heart unfolds sambac jasmine, orange blossom and ylang-ylang; while the base notes complete the pyramid with Tahitian vanilla, caramel, iris root, violet and benzoin.

Clearly reminiscent of Mon Guerlain EDP, yet this is a delightful citrus, more sparkling and cheerful. The lavender is softer and more feminine, without that unisex edge of the EDP. You feel the familiarity with the original, but there is a distinct difference that makes it perfect for summer. They stripped away warm notes such as iris, licorice, and tonka vanilla, replacing them with ylang-ylang, mandarin, and violet. Voilá! A version for warm weather. Lasts 4-6 hours in autumn/winter and 8-10 in spring/summer.

A definite no. On my skin, it smells like insecticide. This is the first time it’s happened to me and I don’t understand why. The notes seemed lovely on paper, but simply don’t work on my skin. I had to give it away, what a pity.
A resounding no! On my skin it smells like insecticide. This is the first time this has happened to me and I don’t understand why. The notes seemed lovely, but on me it just doesn’t work. I had to give it away, what a shame.
Fresh and perfect for summer, the beach, or sports. Citrus-floral scent with moderate to low longevity. I see it as unisex, though there are better citrus options for men. Ratings: Scent 6, Longevity 6, Sillage 5, Value for money 6, Versatility 8, Overall 5.5.
Fresh, ideal for summer, beach, or sports. Citrus and floral scent, performance moderate leaning towards poor. Unisex, though there are better citrus options for men. Scent: 6, Longevity: 6, Sillage: 5, Value for money: 6, Versatility: 8, Overall: 5.5.
With respect to the fans, the opening seems unpleasant to me: sour, strong, intrusive, and synthetic. The good thing is that it softens in seconds, leaves very low sillage, and becomes ‘fresh’, distinguishing the lavender, but nothing attractive or pleasant. I don’t see any resemblance to the EDP except in the final dry down. The EDP is sweet from start to finish with vanilla; here I don’t perceive vanilla, caramel, or sweetness until it is about to disappear. It is unisex, not cheap, I recommend not buying blind and reading reviews; it is not for everyone. I know no one wants to read negative reviews without stars, but it is my moral duty to warn that you should try it before spending.
With all due respect to those who like this fragrance, personally the opening feels quite unpleasant to me; I perceive it as sour, strong, intrusive and synthetic. The good thing is that it softens in a few seconds, very quickly, leaving a very low trail and transforms into a scent… one could say ‘fresh’ where the lavender is distinguished, and although it stops being strong and intrusive, I can’t find anything attractive or pleasant about it unfortunately. I also don’t see the resemblance to the EDP, except in the dry-down during the last hours. The EDP is sweet from start to finish and the vanilla is very noticeable; in this EDT I don’t perceive the vanilla at all, nor the caramel, nor anything sweet until the final phase when it’s about to disappear. I agree with those who feel it’s unisex, and as it’s not cheap, I recommend not buying it blind; take the opinions into account, it’s not a perfume for everyone. I know that generally no one likes reading in reviews that a perfume isn’t pleasant or has a poor trail because they don’t give it stars, but I feel morally obliged to advise you to try it before investing your money.
Completely agree with the reviews marking it as unisex. I personally love it; since I bought it (and also acquired several in between), I’ve used it a lot these sunny spring days. It is literally an EDT because it doesn’t change except for being less heavy than the EDP. True, they took away the dominant vanilla and caramel, so here the lavender feels fresher. Unlike other fragrances where the ‘eau de cologne’ version distorts the original, here Wasser stays faithful to the ideal. This is indeed a perfume that suits the image of Angelina Jolie: strong, masculine, penetrating, with soft touches. I could say it’s a perfume to be anyone’s ‘signature scent’ because it always smells good and is very original compared to the cloying gourmands the big brands keep launching year after year.
Totally agree with the review above 👆🏼. I didn’t like it at all, returning it tomorrow.
To me, it seemed like a ‘pretty’ perfume. The opening is a bit penetrating, surely due to the lavender, but it vanishes in ten minutes, giving way to a white floral heart with vanilla touches, which is truly enchanting… In the final phase, there’s a lower floral presence and more vanilla and caramel resting over a delicate benzoin and that earthy touch of iris root… I didn’t feel it to be unisex at all; very feminine, with a preference for daytime use in spring and summer. Ideal for going out for an al fresco picnic with friends, but also for a romantic dinner in summer… This perfume speaks of elegance, of the natural beauty of women, of femininity. Some might label it simple, perhaps, but it is truly a success.
I found it a ‘pretty’ perfume. The opening is penetrating, certainly due to the lavender, but it fades in 10 minutes leaving a white floral heart with vanilla hints, which is charming. In the end, less flowers and more vanilla and caramel over a delicate benzoin and that earthy touch of iris root. I didn’t feel it was unisex; it was very feminine, ideal for spring and summer, for walks with friends or romantic dinners. It speaks of elegance and a woman’s natural beauty. Some may call it simple, but it is a triumph.
I love the Light Blue, I Love Love, Happy… and while searching for something fruitier, I found this Guerlain. I LOVE it. Simply love it. It’s a clean, fruity aroma and on my skin the florals aren’t extreme, just right. It gives me the impression it suits any time of year… The lavender is noticeable but the bergamot also predominates. The jasmine is almost imperceptible. On me, it has an impressive trail. My husband could smell it from the other room when I walked through the door. It deserves to be among the standout perfumes. Thank you Guerlain for this jewel.
I adore the freshness of this particular fragrance. I love that lavender and the combination with floral notes makes a simply beautiful scent. I also own the Florale EDP which is similar; in my opinion, it’s softer, both are gorgeous. Perhaps the longevity and trail aren’t enormous, but the beauty of the fragrance makes it worth it.
Blessed be Mon Guerlain, I finally got hold of you. Where have you been all these years since my childhood? You remind me of that Italian perfume I never asked my sister-in-law about out of sheer embarrassment.
I don’t know of any place where you can return an opened perfume. That’s why testers exist or why buying blind implies that risk… Tastes vary from person to person. Buy decants before spending on a full bottle. I’ve really liked it. I have several Mon Guerlains and this one seems more bearable for the heat (the floral notes usually overwhelm me). I absolutely love that lavender note; it’s relaxing.
No one returns an opened perfume, which is why decants exist or buying blind is risky; tastes are very personal. I have loved it; I own several Mon Guerlains and this one feels more bearable in the heat, the floral aspect overwhelms me, and that lavender note relaxes me.
I started with the Mon Guerlain EDP and loved it so much that when I was running low on my 30ml bottle, I thought I’d buy this lighter version for spring and summer. Mistake. The EDT isn’t even a shadow of the original perfume. Not only does it vanish from the skin in a jiffy, but it smells different too. It’s like a watery, slightly citrusy version, a lavender with a shy floral and vanilla touch. I’ll use it anyway, but I wouldn’t buy it again. Don’t let the EDP guide you if you loved it as much as I did; they are two different perfumes.
First I had the EDP and liked it very much, I was running low (30 ml), so I thought the lighter version would be good for spring-summer. ERROR. The EDT is not even a shadow of the perfume. It disappears from the skin in little time and smells different: a watery version, slightly citrusy, lavender water with a floral touch and timid vanilla. I will use it the same way, but I would not buy it again. Do not let the EDP guide you if you liked it as I did; they are two different perfumes.
I’ve been testing this for a week now. With the autumnal, rainy weather in my city and having been suffering from a bout of migraines, I decided to try it. The scent is special, unique, very soft and personal. The trail at the start is good and lasts between four and five hours, which I find reasonable for an EDT with these characteristics.
It’s not a soft perfume. It’s an overwhelming citrus; the opening is very impactful, but it fades and leaves a slightly sweet, powdery scent. I was expecting a lavender and vanilla bomb. I thought it would be sweeter due to the caramel and vanilla notes, but I didn’t feel it that way. I detected no caramel at all, and the vanilla only appears when it dries and is almost imperceptible. I hate the opening, I love the dry-down… in my case, I’d prefer not to wear it in summer.

Rich, feminine, elegant, but too soft for my taste and with rather poor performance; I will not buy it again.
It is not that I dislike it to the point of saying it repulses me, but rather that it tells me nothing. Super citrusy opening. The lavender (which I consider the best in this line) is only noticeable in the background once dry, but the vanilla and caramel notes eclipse it. I would prefer the EDP a thousand times over.
The first thing I feel upon application is the lavender, with a very slight touch of tangerine; the opening I perceive as citrusy. In the dry-down I still feel lavender with vanilla, slightly sweeter but not cloying. I liked it but it did not make me fall in love; it is similar to other Guerlain scents. It has good longevity for an EDT, lasting 7 hours on my skin: the first 3 hours I feel it well, the remaining 4 close to the skin; afterwards, it needs reapplication. I think I would not buy it again, I am still testing it.
Beautiful, it is like the noble and serious brother of Shalimar, which I like because I could not tolerate the latter; I bought it with high hopes and it gave me a headache. On the other hand, upon receiving Mon Guerlain EDT, I said: wow! It is Shalimar without the disturbing leather and papyrus. I love it and I was surprised that it is not nearly as similar to the Mon Guerlain EDP (which I adore). I own the EDP, EDT, Florale, Bloom of Rose and the Intense from this line; I am going for the other collection flankers, they are worth it, they are all jewels.
After falling in love with Mon Guerlain, I had to get the EDT, which, as I read, is discontinued, although it is easy to find. I bought my bottle on ML without problems, August 2018 batch. In terms of scent, this EDT is a ‘citrus’ version of the original EDP. The opening is powerful tangerine and lavender; even its dry-down seems stronger than the EDP. It can feel a bit bitter, like smelling citrus peels and the green, camphoraceous part of the lavender. I think that is it, in those crucial 15 minutes where it loses followers. It is a somewhat confusing opening, not mixed as well as its older sister. However, this does not last. Once settled, the vanilla and caramel blend with the lavender. It is not a gourmand sweetness, but powdery and resinous, just like the EDP. But as an EDT, the scent drops drastically over time, leaving only the vanilla close to the skin after about 5 hours; much longer on clothes. I see it as suitable for warm climates, but not for summer or oppressive heat, as this EDT is no more bearable than the original; it simply has a different concentration. For me, who loves Mon Guerlain, it is essential and that is why I bought it, but I would recommend the EDP better. A very similar dupe is the HC2 from Perfumería (Mexico). Compared with Shalimar Souffle, there are similarities in that both are flankers of potent scents, but the Souffle is definitely a Shalimar, with its balsamic vanilla. And this is definitely a Mon Guerlain, with its lavender, iris and resinous vanilla. They are not interchangeable nor do they smell alike.
I fell in love with Mon Guerlain and sought out the EDT, which is said to be discontinued but is easily found on ML (August 2018 batch). It is a citrus version of the EDP: a potent mandarin and lavender opening, a strong and slightly bitter dry down with citrus peels and green/camphorated lavender. In those crucial 15 minutes, it loses supporters with a confused blend. Then it settles: vanilla and caramel with lavender, powdery and resinous like the EDP. But as an EDT, it drops drastically, with vanilla barely on the skin after 5 hours, lasting longer on clothes. Good for heat, but not for oppressive summer; it is not more bearable than the original, just a different concentration. Essential for me, but I recommend the EDP. Similar to the HC2 from Perfumérica. Different from Shalimar Soufflé: this is Mon Guerlain with lavender, iris, and resinous vanilla; they are not interchangeable.
This fragrance is a gem, a sweet but not aggressive scent, with that aromatic lavender yet nothing masculine. In the dry-down it is a powdery, sweet and soft lavender, spectacular. One of my favourites, it works well in cold and heat, causing no discomfort even at high temperatures; for me, it is a perfect blend. Despite being an EDT, its longevity is excellent on my skin, lasting up to 12 hours without issues and much longer on clothes. A very well-made gem, a pity it is discontinued; one of the few I own for which I have more than one refill.
I thought it would be the same as the EDP, my fault for not comparing the notes. This one is much more citrusy and not therefore fresher; if I over-spray, it becomes overwhelming. The lavender of the EDP, the one I fell in love with, is barely noticeable here. I wear it when I want to smell feminine and don’t know what else to put on.
I simply say that I adore it. I even like it more than the EDP. Ideal for intermediate seasons. Lavender, vanilla and citrus. A work of art.
What luck to find this flanker in 50ml, as it is now a real tiger to come by. Mon Guerlain Eau de Toilette opens with bright citrus: bergamot and tangerine blend to give that juicy DNA of the line, something noticeable the moment you spray it, much livelier and less dense. Gradually, it moves into that classic house heart of lavender and vanilla, with that powdery touch, perhaps due to iris; here, the violet also adds a fresh, talc-like note. In the dry-down, the caramel is well-balanced and not overly sweet; alongside the vanilla, it recalls that lingering note of Shalimar Parfum Initial, with iris and vanilla. Although the EDT is different, it seems to hide an accord from that discontinued Shalimar flanker. In short, a solid flanker with flawless execution by Wasser and Jelk; it is a pity it is out of catalogue, as it performs better than the also discontinued Bloom Rose. I am already looking for the Sparkling Bouquet because I love this line.
