Given the ingredients (jasmine, nard, musk, amber, patchouli…), I imagine it will be an absolute treat. Its predecessor, For Her, is impressive. One of the best and most original creations of the moment. We’ll see how this new version turns out. Time will tell…
MMM… as far as I remember, it was launched in September 2015.
It’s an exquisite perfume, perhaps a little unisex at times, but with great personality: intense yet delicate and elegant. I wouldn’t recommend it for very young people, but it suits women with attitude. It’s very refined; the patchouli adds a powerful note that makes it special.
I tried it in the store with high hopes for Narciso, but I regretted it: I spent the day smelling like an old lady. It’s not a bad perfume, but it has a strong personality and seems made for older women with attitude. The pleasant floral notes disappear quickly before the patchouli and amber take over. It’s very ostentatious and dominant.
From the first spritz to the very end, I’m fascinated; the scent and fixation are tremendous. My nose detects lots of sandalwood, musk, amber and a hint of incense. Definitely, Narciso Rodríguez is my favourite brand and my personal signature.
I’m reviewing another masterpiece from Narciso Rodríguez; I adore his elegance. In L’Absolu, the flowers recede into the background while the musk, amber, patchouli and sandalwood shine. It has great warmth and is fascinating: suddenly you feel bursts of nardos or a breeze of jasmine that explode and fade away, like magic. That is Narciso: pure magic and innate elegance. Moderate projection, high longevity.
Nardos, musk and sandalwood in all their glory: delicious, creamy and elegant. Its sweet trail isn’t cloying; instead, it makes people ask what you’re wearing and leaves them full of compliments. It’s addictive, even for those who usually don’t favour sweet scents. Another triumph from Narciso Rodríguez; thank you for such a beautiful fragrance. Projection and longevity are top-notch; three or four sprays last all day.
I liked it: it is a mysterious and quite musky perfume. The patchouli and sandalwood always stand out. The longevity is excellent. It is on my wishlist. I find it very similar to Si Intense from the black bottle.
I bought it blind based on the good comments! Mistake! Perhaps it is my pH, but it is a disappointment. Although it smells different, on my skin it is just musk and patchouli, with a very faint and distant white floral aroma. Moreover, I apply it and in half an hour it is skin-scented, as if I had put it on hours ago. After two hours there is almost nothing, and by three hours it smells like water. What a pity being a high-end perfume with a beautiful purple bottle. A great disappointment. I think the ones from Viva La Juicy last longer, although they are pleasant scents that last a breath.
I know there are Narciso lovers and I am grateful to have options for everyone. But I cannot handle its musk: it is so piercing that I only perceive that note, overpowering everything. I expected a creamy and elegant neroli, but I received a pineapple blast on my nose that lasted hours. I do not understand the need for such an invasive musk. I read thousands of reviews and assumed it would be a wearable floral, but it wasn’t. It suffocated me so much that I sold it the next day. Narciso is not for me; I already have enough with the EDP. EDIT: By Dior, as perception changes. I bought it in June, couldn’t handle it, and sold it. But being stubborn, I decided to buy it again in January with an irresistible offer. It turns out it is imperative to give it a second chance. I only had to wait for that powerful musk to soften. And the magic appeared! The neroli I longed for came along with a delicate jasmine. It was a wonderful surprise. How happy I feel to have given it another opportunity. Never stay with the first impression; perfumes evolve, and that is what I learned.
I gave it several chances in freeshop. Additionally, I have a used 2ml miniature… At first, it seemed extremely potent with a suffocating sweet powdery note. Eight months later (including a change of season), I tried it again and I like it. Could it be because I used Orchid Soleil and Twilly before? Or because I learned to distinguish the neroli from frangipani and tiare? This Absolu definitely appeals to me. Its floral trail is more serious and darker than the EDP or EDT, as if they removed the fruity brightness. Over time it develops facets: the jasmine is dark, sweet, and earthy, leaning towards dry (it reminds me of the one in Jazmin). The musk is beautiful, soft, creamy, and silky, enveloping everything and harmonising without being the protagonist. It has a subtle touch that reminds me of Miss Dior, but this one is drier and powdery, whereas Miss Dior is juicy. Both have a deep patchouli that adds dimension. You can smell every ingredient. I suggest trying it several times, I say 6-7. The bordeaux purple bottle gives me a feeling of a coat or velvet dress: elegant, cosy, heavy, and soft. Heat or warmth favours it, just like with For Her Fleur Musc; the cold does not bring out the best.
I gave it several chances in the freeshop. Besides, I have a used mini that someone gave me. At first, it seemed incredibly potent with a suffocating sweet powdery scent. Eight months later, with the change of season, I tried it again and I like it; I think I’d wear it if I owned it. Could it be because I used Orchid Soleil and Twilly in between? Or because I learned to distinguish nard from frangipani and tiaré? This Absolu definitely pleases me. Its floral trail is more serious and dark than For Her’s, as if the fruity luminosity has been removed. Over time it develops facets: the jasmine is darkly sweet and earthy, leaning towards dry (it reminds me of the one in Jazmin). The musk has a beautiful strength, soft, creamy and silky, enveloping and harmonising without being the protagonist. It has a subtle aldehydic note that reminds me of the opening of Miss Dior, but without so much juice; this Absolu vibrates more dry and powdery. Perhaps both have a deep patchouli that adds dimension. Anyway, I suggest trying it several times before deciding: I’d say 6-7. The bordeaux-violet bottle gives me the impression of an elegant velvet coat or dress, cosy, heavy and soft. That’s the feeling of this perfume. Also, note that heat or warmth suits it, just as it does with For Her Fleur Musc; the cold doesn’t bring out its best.
Bought it blind and have no regrets. The neroli is potent, but in dry heat that heavy musk reminiscent of Narciso Rodríguez calms down and becomes super intimate, leaving no trail, whereas in humidity it explodes and intensifies. For me, it’s a wonder that reminds me of irises blooming in March-April, the start of spring. It’s floral, full of nectar, and very creamy. It’s the most beautiful neroli I’ve ever smelled. What a pity they’ve delisted it.
I also bought it blind. It has an intense neroli, but in dry weather that explosive Narciso musk quiets down and becomes intimate, without a trail, whereas with humidity it becomes explosive. For me, it is wonderful; I associate it with the irises of March-April and the start of spring. It is floral, with nectar, and very creamy. It is the most beautiful neroli I have ever smelled. What a pity they have discontinued it.
It is intense and long-lasting on my skin, smelling of neroli, but the dry down feels a bit powdery. I used one bottle, but do not forget to buy it… although it still doesn’t fully convince me.
Buy blind! When I first tested it, I thought it was a mistake. The opening is very bitter, but it lasts a short time before a rich dry down emerges. I would say it is fine, elegant, and different from what is currently on the market. A very good perfume.
I’m dying to get my hands on it again, as the pandemic cut off the flower supply and took away several of my favourites. It is an absolute must-have in my collection; I would never get tired of wearing it. If you like Narciso perfumes, this is the best one for me: the one that made me leave the house and stop at Italian boutiques asking what I was wearing: ‘un profumo bonissimo!’ They laughed, but that’s how it is. I used to reserve it for evening/night and special occasions. L’Absolu with its musk and neroli adds mystery, while for day, For Her is what I absolutely adore. I will never tire of a perfume that gives you life.
I’m dying for it to return, because during the pandemic flowers were missing and I lost several favourite perfumes. It’s a staple in my collection because I’ll never tire of wearing it. If you like Narciso Rodríguez perfumes, this is the best; it’s the one I wear when leaving the house and Italians have stopped me asking what I’m wearing: ‘a bonissimo profumo!’ I laughed, and it’s true, I reserved it for evening/night and special occasions. L’Absolu with its musk and neroli adds a touch of mystery, and for the day, For Her, which I love even though it’s well-known, but I’ll never tire of a perfume that brightens your day and gives you life.
This is the most floral version of the classic For Her EDT without the rose found in the EDP. Here, the neroli takes centre stage alongside the typical Narciso musk. The dry down is floral and ambered. A 100% feminine scent with excellent longevity and good projection.
I only smell patchouli and musk. I gave it many chances, but it just doesn’t work. The patchouli covers everything else and it’s a ‘mentholated’ patchouli, more or less like in Angels (yes, I know you won’t kill me). I don’t detect the neroli or the jasmine. It will leave my collection at the first opportunity.
I only detect patchouli and musk. I gave it many chances, but it just doesn’t work for me: the patchouli overpowers everything, smelling like a mentholated version of Angel (yes, I know). I can’t smell the neroli or the jasmine. It will be leaving my collection as soon as I can.
