Zenof is right: once the fragrance has settled, the performance is more than acceptable and it works wonders on clothes.
Carloslainezd, I’ve been wearing Nightfall for four months and now it’s nothing like its initial performance; more than six sprays can become overwhelming, but it lasts around eight hours without issue, not just on the skin. It’s not the best from Massimo Dutti, but it is a proper powerhouse, which says a lot about the house.
I bought it blind and, to be honest, it doesn’t really excite me. It’s a citrus-resinous opening with tangerine and little else. The worst aspect is the longevity, which is quite weak; the trail stays in a personal bubble. I’ve worn it in the shower and sprayed it on clothes, yet there’s no lasting power. It’s a pleasant scent in itself, but MD has better options such as the fresh Juniper Berries and Ginger, the spicy Black Evening, Sandy Papirus, the delicate Cotton & Green Sage, the marine Island Accord, or the spiced Kashbat Sunsent.
Both comparisons with Alexandria and Ombre Leather fit. It doesn’t replace or match them, but it does possess that ambered, woody, and musky character of the first, blended with TF’s ash-like leather. Everything is well-blended and kept at a contained volume. It’s a difficult scent, seemingly out of place in a generalist brand’s catalogue, but it’s good that they take the risk.
