I was gifted a sample and the quality is top-notch, with a trail and longevity that leave nothing to be desired. It is true that it smells like a current trend, not mass-market brand fragrance, but rather pure niche. I have tried everything in this line and it features a brutal leather note with a very pronounced resinous, smoky dry-down. If you enjoy the style of Club de Nuit, you will surely fall in love with it. It is unisex, though the intensity of the leather leans towards masculine, finishing with a scent reminiscent of burnt car oil. I see it more suited for cold weather and casual or smart-casual looks; not for gala events or everyday wear. Perhaps ideal for occasions without a strict dress code.
