I bought this for a friend, and although he was initially put off by its intensity and resinous character, I ended up keeping it myself. The surprise is that upon application, it smells about 95% like dry, rough oud, which doesn’t suit everyone, but over time it transforms into something sweet and pleasant. I found myself suddenly smelling my t-shirt or hair of something sweet, unable to identify it, until another burst of that scent appeared. It’s like a box of surprises: the wood is a hidden treasure. In short, it begins as a true oud, dry and potent, before leaving a trail of a super pleasant sweetness that isn’t vanilla, coconut, or almond; it’s light yet constant. I love it for both men and women. I give it a 9 for being so surprising.
