A very fresh, minimalist fragrance. I wore it as a teenager and remember constantly reapplying it because its staying power wasn’t the best, especially when compared with the female titan of the time: Ciel celeste. I suspect they must have made up the notes, because they didn’t declare them for years. Paula sold itself, but by word of mouth you knew it was a very ethereal, delicate citrus mist. For want of more variety in my collection, I used it for going out, but I’d say its ideal environment is an office. I don’t know whether they’ve reformulated it or not, but it had nothing of tonka bean and amber. It’s above all a citrus scent, a kind of Arden’s Green Tea oriented towards bergamot. I’m not saying they’re the same perfume, only that they share the idea of an inexpensive, light and refreshing scent. In my opinion, between the two, Paula is far more elegant and versatile. I hope it keeps triumphing as what it always was: a very pleasant and well-made Argentine perfume. A pride of ours, but also a real classic among middle-class girls from the interior, who didn’t have access to so many options but, thanks to Paula, could perfume ourselves with dignity.
I used it about 8 years ago and quite liked it; I don’t know whether the formula is still the same.

A citrus scent with body; the tonka bean and amber give it that enveloping touch and have made it a faithful companion for summers and, why not, the whole year round too. Fresh, versatile, clean. It also bears my name—complete combo 😁. A BBB, very recommendable.
Paula has arrived on Fragrantica!!! My signature perfume for some years now 🙂 Fresh, citrusy, clean, joyful and comforting. I love this perfume; it takes me straight back to my childhood ♥. One of those fragrances that put you in a good mood and bring a smile to your face! In Argentina it’s the classic of classics. The years go by and it’s still current; it’s very youthful thanks to its freshness and lightness. Thanks for uploading it!!
How happy I am to see the perfumes of this Argentine brand on FRAGRANTICA!🥰 I had been asking them for a long time when they were going to add PAULA CAHEN D’ANVERS perfumes. This Paula (classic) was the first one I had. It was 2006 😁 when I saw a perfume with my name in a perfumery and I couldn’t help wanting it. When I got it, it was love at first sniff. Already being a lover of floral citrus, musk, and aquatic scents, this fragrance captivated me with its simplicity. It didn’t need to be loaded with sweet and heavy notes to remain in my memory and transport me to a moment where everything is white, in neutral tones, thinking of a spa, or a place where we are comfortable, without stress, returning to ourselves. This perfume calms me down and also lifts me up, gives me energy, because the citrus notes and the combination with amber and sandalwood are just right. Here they don’t declare the wormwood note that is registered in the brand’s page description, and it’s an important note because I’ve read it has anti-inflammatory and anti-stress properties, among others… Paula 🤍🪽 aligns you, caresses you, and lets you go. It’s everything that is right in the air when I spray it, it’s delicious, and although there are those who say they got tired of it… They still like it. It’s already a classic. I always need to have one in my closet, even just to look at it… The box with its sober colours but with character of “I don’t need much noise or colours, this is me and you love it”… In short, a perfume that never reminded me of any other! Except, and I just realised (I realise) that it has a fairly close similarity with Chanson D’ Vie now that I think about it… My memory associated those citrus notes with the sunny and fresh feeling of a morning bathed in dew in the grass and a ray of sunshine, that’s how Coty’s is (unfortunately discontinued). Also, in the soft and somewhat powdery part, it reminds me of Chanson d’Air, it’s an almost ethereal and musky vibe, like with clean cotton. Ugh, well, I went on too long, but it’s one of the best perfumes for me. I hope we keep having you for many more years.🤍🪽

I’m not saying they’re the same perfumes, just that they share the idea of an inexpensive, light, and refreshing perfume. In my opinion, of the two, Paula is much more elegant and versatile. I hope it continues to thrive as it always has, a very pleasant and well-made Argentine perfume. A point of pride for us, but also a classic of middle-class girls from the ‘interior,’ who didn’t have access to so many options, but thanks to Paula we could smell decent.
