EDITED: At first, I thought it was rubbish—a super dark, almost bruised rose. I tested it three times and put it aside. A year later, at the end of summer, I tried it again and thought it was excellent. It has a more mature rose than I usually enjoy, reminiscent of Guerlain’s Black Perfect, though now it sounds closer to Escada’s Especially Elixir; it’s not a copy of either, but it’s in that vicinity. I didn’t feel the sparkling lychee opening I expected; it smells more like dusty rose, slightly earthy with a sweet touch, but more floral than sweet. It projects for an hour and lasts about four hours on the skin, which is average for my EDTs. I wouldn’t buy it blindly unless you’re a rose fan and looking for something different from Idole or Choe. I bought it cheaply and I’m not sure if it’s still available everywhere, but if you catch it on the second-hand market at a good price and you like Avon perfumes, give it a try, but it’s not worth paying a premium for being discontinued. It’s a very soft perfume that doesn’t last long on the skin. The roses are noticeable, but the vanilla truly disappears as a base note. The lychee is evident in the opening, it complements the rose well, and it ends up being a rather warm scent, nothing fresh. It’s economical, although it lacks significant projection and longevity.
