I bought it seeking a rose scent and, in part, seduced by the advertising. The aroma is pleasant and the rose is a pale pink with a silvery hint, matching the box, and lacks nothing in terms of beauty. However, it doesn’t fascinate me. When I’ve finished the bottle, whose solid glass I really like, I’ll continue searching for my rose in other fragrances. Over time, I’ve grown to appreciate it much more. It’s a delicate rose, very natural, nuanced with fruit notes.

  • SeleneHdez

This fragrance is very cheerful and feminine; I find it refreshing, smelling of a fresh rose garden. The lychee is also very present, adding a tart note that I enjoy, making it ideal for daytime wear.

  • A very refined, pleasant and unobtrusive fragrance. It’s one of those scents I call ‘cold’ (like Burberry Sport Woman). Although I won’t repurchase it as I find it slightly metallic and it makes me feel down for some reason, I can’t quite explain why. I see it as a winter scent, but since it’s not overpowering, it doesn’t go amiss in other seasons. I love wearing it to bed; upon waking, it smells delicious of sweet, sparkling roses. The downside is that I notice it lacks longevity and sillage on my skin.

Rose The One feels like a blend of two fragrances: L’eau The One by Dolce & Gabbana and Especially by Escada. The rose is the star, but not a dusty, mature, sensual rose; instead, it’s fresh, damp and radiant. Citrus notes, lychee and vanilla wrap around it, giving it a cheerful, youthful character that I simply adore. Now that it’s winter, the scent fades a bit as it’s quite light, but for spring, it should be perfect.

  • Lolaleighton

Excellent perfume; I already owned La Imperatrice by Dolce and Light Blue. It has excellent longevity; it’s not that irritating rose scent; with the blackcurrant and mandarin, it has a fresh touch. I use it at night to sleep, it relaxes me and makes me feel sexy. I recommend it for winter because it’s denser, although it can be worn other times as it’s not the typical sweet-sweet.

  • If you’re looking for a fresh rose, slightly sweet and vanillaised, subtle, elegant and cheerful, this is the one. I love the projection of the rose here, very fresh, like with dew, modern and balancedly enhanced by mandarin and lychee, what a delight. Very chic. The bottle retains the shape of The One but in metallic pink, very descriptive. Rose with dew, springtime rose. I love it!

I neither like nor dislike it; it’s too shy to create excitement. It smells like the original The One but with a touch of rose, and watch out, the original smells much better. It’s a pity this one lacks strength and sillage; I don’t know why they make them so weak.

  • Hello and welcome to Fragrantica! If you have questions or want to make suggestions, it’s best to do so in the Forum, where there are dedicated threads for that. On these product pages, only opinions about the scent are appropriate, not questions. Please check the relevant threads and ask where it’s suitable!

  • Hello, I’m Paloma and I’m new here! I have a collection of many divine perfumes, but I’m looking for something with a woody base and a cinnamon heart, rich and seductive, that lasts for hours. That’s why I buy so much; I’m searching for something unique that doesn’t make you smell like everyone else. I already have several florals that are divine, but with over 60 perfumes, I can’t find what I want. Does anyone have any recommendations?

  • Perfect perfume for spring and summer: fresh and floral, but unlike other florals, it has a special delicacy and subtlety that sets it apart; I would say it is a romantic floral. There is also a warm and dense base note, which in my opinion is vanilla, very present on my skin when it settles. THE BIG PROBLEM: it has neither sillage nor longevity. I have tried it with excessive amounts, but nothing, neither I nor anyone else can smell it after ten minutes. I would not recommend it at all because, although the mix of rose, lychee and vanilla fell in love with me from the start (which is why I bought it), it simply is not worth buying a perfume at that price that doesn’t smell at all.

  • I tested it on the typical blotting paper and the next day it was still smelling. I liked it quite a bit. Be careful with fakes, these DG perfumes are quite imitated.

  • Absolutely delicious! The blackcurrant, musk, lilies and rose make a brilliant combination. It is not heavy, it is pleasant… a beautiful fragrance.

Hello, I am new to this too. For paloma12, there is a perfume called Prada Candy that meets your requirements. I haven’t smelled it, but based on the comments I will try it, although I am more of a sweet cologne person.

  • Bagonzalez9

I like it very much; I bought it twice and I have no regrets. It smells sweet and fresh at the same time, like grapefruit and vanilla. On my skin it lasts 4-6 hours. I haven’t bought it again after the second bottle because it is not indispensable, but it is very delicious 🙂

  • UNIVERSE BARBIE: It is aimed at girls and young women, but also at women who retain the spark of youthful femininity and naivety. It is not mature, complex or mystical; it has a good balance between intensity and sweetness without being cloying. Its notes do not invade; it is creamy, blends with the skin and creates an angelic, innocent, feminine and tender aura. Sometimes my brain groups similar scents that remind me of something known. In a review of Something About Sofia, I mentioned its resemblance to the Bathina cream from the same brand, but Rose the One and its body lotion nail the scent of that cream, just like Bourjois’ Java rice powders. It is an inspiring rose-with-vanilla-cream scent, super feminine and youthful, reminding us of the dolls from the boom of children’s products that stimulated our olfactory senses: smelling perfumed papers like hounds, identifying them blindfolded and becoming perfume devourers. That childhood ‘olfactory education’ could be the basis of the emotional link in today’s consumerism, not just in bottles but in cosmetics (like Yves Rocher, which tests fragrances in creams before launching them). We are surrounded by reference aromas, and products like this, with their doll-like scent, touch deep memories. There are other similarities, but between Rose the One and Something About Sofia, I notice common notes. Although the latter goes beyond the creamy base, it is more oriental, nocturnal, caramelised, resinous, concentrated, deep and heavy, resulting in a more mature scent. Rose is more floral, light, pleasant to everyone, commercial, balanced and delicate, without risking with complex ingredients. Looking at the composition, I agree with everything: ‘those who are are all there and all those who are not are not there’. USE: A sure bet for sweet girls, lolitas, delicate and romantic women, ideal as a daily personal perfume. It is not intrusive, it is delicate and flexible. In my case, I enjoy it for a while in an appropriate context, although the girl inside me loves it.

  • The Universe Barbie version: focused on girls and young women, but also for women who feel the spark of youthful, naif femininity. It’s not mature, complex or mystical; it lacks many nuances, but it has a good balance of intensity and sweetness. It’s not cloying, the notes aren’t invasive and it’s creamy, blending with the skin to form an angelic, innocent, feminine and tender aura. Sometimes my mind groups similar scents that remind me of something known. In another review about Something About Sofia, I mentioned the resemblance to the brand’s cosmetics, specifically the Bathina cream, a very distinctive smell. But the fragrance that nails the scent of that cream is Rose The One, and its body lotion is incredibly similar; it smells super close to Bourjois Java Rice Powder. It’s an inspiring rose and vanilla cream scent, super feminine and young, reminding us of dolls from the era when children’s products were saturated with scents that stimulated our sense of smell. We sniffed perfumed papers like hounds, identifying them with our eyes closed… and turned us into perfume addicts. That ‘olfactory education’ in childhood could be the basis for the importance of aromas in today’s consumerism, through a subconscious emotional link, not just in bottled perfumes but in cosmetics (e.g. Yves Rocher tests acceptance in creams before launching fragrances). We are surrounded by reference fragrances, so certain cosmetics or perfumes, including this one with its doll-like scent, tap into deep olfactory memories. There may be other similarities, but with Rose The One and Something About Sofia in my collection, I perceive common notes. Although the latter goes beyond the creamy rose and vanilla base, it is more oriental, nocturnal, caramelised, resinous or concentrated, deeper and heavier, and can seem more mature compared to Rose, which is more floral and light, pleasant for anyone, more commercial, more balanced and delicate, without playing it safe with complex ingredients. Looking at the composition, I am exceptionally in agreement with all of it. USAGE: A sure bet for sweet, tender girls, lolitas, delicate and romantic women; ideal as a personal fragrance for daily wear under any circumstances. It’s not intrusive, it’s delicate, with very flexible characteristics. In my case, I can enjoy it for a while in the right context, even though the girl inside me loves smelling it.

  • I searched for weeks for The One and ended up with Rose the One. Its floral and fresh notes won me over. It is very feminine and soft; it doesn’t stand out for big events because it fades quickly, nor is it suitable for the office as it is too tender and not professional enough. Its strength lies in the initial floral intensity: when you apply it, you feel like you’re in a garden, but after half an hour the potency disappears even if you reapply. Ideal for daily wear, best with sun and breeze; I wouldn’t recommend it after 5 p.m. It smells like clean, soapy body lotion and lingers on clothes the next day. It conveys tenderness, optimism and joy, suitable for a youthful profile. Among florals, it is excellent and nothing artificial. There is a very similar Zara Women Eau de Parfum version, but this one smells more synthetic. It is easy to confuse with shampoos or lotions, which makes it fade quickly, but you are sure to receive good compliments. The rose reminds me of things like Chloe’s Roses, which is better if you are looking for just that note. The other notes are light and hard to detect. Delicate, feminine, cheerful and youthful: a fragrance to enjoy with the day’s breeze.

The best rose I have ever smelled in my life. Delicious, subtle, elegant, spring-like and clean; Rose the One is all of that and more. I love it; I think it suits a mature woman perfectly. Without a doubt, my favourite from Dolce and Gabbana.

  • Super enveloping and warm scent, but in my humid and hot climate it became overwhelming, so I kept it for winter. Edit: they’ve discontinued it and I’m dying to smell that olfactory embrace again, although perhaps I won’t tolerate it well during pregnancy and didn’t appreciate it as much as it deserved.

  • What a beautiful perfume for rose lovers! The composition says blackcurrants, but it reminded me of the taste of redcurrant sweets: a sweet aroma with a little bit of tartness. It’s fresh, romantic, giving that ‘clean scent’, soapy, feminine, and sweet, like tender caramelised roses (the redcurrant, not the coffee). EDIT: YES, it has a great trail and longevity! I applied it at 5 am and people were asking what perfume I was wearing by 3 pm; they could even smell it at 10 hours. It lasted days on my clothes and I was ashamed to wash it. I finished it in less than a month and I’ve already bought it again, yesiii!

  • VainillaDulce

Rose The One is a very vanilla-scented and fruity rose. It’s lovely, creamy with light fresh touches. In the opening, the citrus, blackcurrant, and lychee are noticeable, but what shines is the rose: fresh, wrapped in creamy vanilla, with a base of musk and sandalwood. It’s very versatile, suits any time of day, it’s beautiful, subtle, elegant, and very feminine. The only downside is that it doesn’t last very long on my skin.

  • Norome Leena

My opinion on this has changed greatly. When I bought it, I was looking for MY ROSE: huge, exuberant, bellicose… Then I understood that the perfume wasn’t to blame for not matching, and I learned to appreciate it for what it is: a fruity rose (the lychee is noticeable), slightly vanilla-scented, to which the ambrette musk adds a fine, warm, and carnal touch.

  • weraevaelena

It’s a lovely fragrance, youthful, fruity, and vanilla-scented, with the rose as the protagonist. However, I didn’t like it as much as I expected because I felt it was a bit synthetic. The longevity and trail were moderate; I noticed it for about five hours.

  • Meleagrina80

Wow, I loved it! I bought it almost blindly, knowing I’d liked it but having forgotten. It was one of the best purchases of 2018. I found it in a forgotten corner of an old perfumery, without a tester and at a ridiculous price because it was discontinued. I don’t understand why they took it off; it’s a beauty: delicate, subtle, elegant. When I opened the box, its metallic pink reminded me of the classic The One I adore. I just ask that they bring it back because I’ll cherish it; it’s nowhere to be found in my country. I found it while searching for my beloved Insolence EDT in its previous version and I took both. Imagine my joy. It has a hint of the classic but a touch of fresh roses that gives it its own identity. I’ll look after it like gold.

  • Elegant, sophisticated, and a dream. The Rose version of The One is a triumph that far surpasses this one. The roses are noticeable, maintaining that sweet and intense base.

  • Very elegant. I think they’ve discontinued it. It’s beautiful. It smells of fresh rose, pretty and well-blended with the other notes.

  • I’m wearing it now and it’s a hit. It’s floral, sweet, and very delicate. It’s that scent that makes you turn your head; not because of the trail, but because of what it awakens in the senses. Something very different: fruity roses, nothing sour. I recommend it.

  • I’m dying for this. If anyone knows where to get it, please let me know. Wearing it was like sinking into a bed of satin with rose petals: sophisticated, fresh, cheerful, and elegant. It had me head over heels.

  • Hello everyone. I have two bottles for sale: 50ml, 2010 batch, in Spain. Please send me a message.

  • Kathro B.

I’ve never liked the scent of roses and when my sister gifted me this perfume, reading ‘Rose The One’ I almost threw it away. It was love at first sniff; I feel feminine, coquettish and clean. I regret that D&G no longer produces it, but to my great fortune I found a perfumerie in Mexico that handles testers.

  • I bought this fragrance a year after its launch. As a rose fan, it captivated me and it was an absolute pleasure to use it for years until almost the last drops. And I say almost, because I keep the last two or three drops. Its aroma remains intact: velvety and fresh roses at the same time, delicate, sublime. Today I look at the little bottle with nostalgia. It was a pleasure to meet you, Rose The One. What a pity its discontinuation, those are the mysteries of the industry we’ll never understand.

  • Nefelibatadiana

The rose scent is strong but not cloying; it’s warm and harmonious. I bought it blind and I have no regrets. Would I buy it again? No. Do I regret buying it? Not at all, on the contrary, I recommend it to women of a certain age with sophisticated tastes.

  • Persefonex

I’m not usually a fan of roses in perfumes, but this breaks the mould. It’s a velvety rose, not sweet, that caresses without cloying. It’s super feminine. Imagine how wonderful it was that my mum, my sister-in-law, and I all bought it for our home. Please, if anyone knows of something similar, let me know, because unfortunately it’s discontinued.

  • It’s exquisite. I have it in the tester and it’s a beautiful rose; I always use it when I’m at home.

  • Soft roses, zero aggression, with that creamy and vanilla touch. This is a delight, such a enjoyable perfume. I loved it.

  • Bibilalique

I liked it in the store and used it for a while, but I couldn’t finish the bottle; it had too much rose. You definitely have to love that scent, because in my case, at that time of year, my tastes changed and I gave it away. What a shame, as it’s a well-made perfume with perfectly blended notes and excellent performance.

  • solsegovia

I had it! I don’t recall it clearly, but I liked it. I’d recommend it for younger people.

  • Lady Wallis

I tried this at 20 and it absolutely blew my mind, although nowadays it overwhelms me a little. Fifteen years have passed and my tastes have changed, but back then its projection was brutal. If you’re looking to be noticed, this is the one for you.
