Sakeena by Lattafa Perfumes

I’m surprised a Lattafa bestseller has so few reviews here. Firstly, the presentation is pure luxury: a box that opens like a jewel and a velvet bottle, very Arab and ostentatious, perfect for gifting. Secondly, the price doesn’t justify the quality; it lasts all day but costs around $25, though it jumps to $50 on sale. My experience with Sakeena: an opening that’s sweet and fruity, like natural caramel, not fresh passion fruit. After five minutes, a ripe, heavy red rose emerges—nothing delicate like Lancôme, more akin to Club de Nuit Intense. The sweetness comes from fruity candies, not vanilla or praline. I wouldn’t have bought it in-store as I’m looking for something juicy and summery, not a rose that invades; this is better for night or temperate weather. If you want natural, refreshing passion fruit, try Mayar, although to me it smells like lychee. It’s not bad, just not my style. If you love dark roses but want something less intense, go ahead, but do test it first.

The best part is the opening: passion fruit and ozonic notes I identify as a fresh breeze, very pleasant and distinctive. It’s juicy, sweet and tropical. Once the ozonic note fades, passion fruit dominates but is surpassed by lots of sweet raspberry and a touch of floral rose. I don’t detect bergamot, though there is a slight salty aspect. After two hours on skin, it’s very sweet with raspberry and toffee. The trail is moderate and lasts 8–9 hours, dropping to skin-only after 5–6 hours. If the tropical scent remained more consistent, I’d include it for summer. The dry-down isn’t distinctive enough for me to buy the full bottle; it depends on your collection. Overall, a good fragrance for the price if you love raspberry and aren’t put off by synthetic, sugary scents. I’d recommend testing it first. Scent 6/10, longevity 8.5/10, trail 7/10, value for money 8/10, versatility 7/10. Would I buy it again? I haven’t.

To me it’s strange but rich. Once dried, it smells like Tutsi Pop cherry with a chocolate trail, nothing cloying. It lasts hours or even days on clothes. My family smells it as juicy tangerine and a cheerful floral. I wear it in cold weather because that’s how I feel it, but my family thinks it’s better for heat. It’s versatile. The best part: if you have a strong character or a great sense of humour, it’s a 10. It’s sexy, mature, and one of the few Arab gourmands that doesn’t make me dizzy. I recommend it for those over 30 or people with a strong sense of humour.

Cheer up! Upon spraying, I detect ozonic notes, passion fruit, raspberry, orange, followed by vanilla, praline and rose. I don’t perceive bergamot, salt or musk, but I love it. Ideal all year round, with a unique and spectacular presentation. Lasts 10 hours on clothes. If you like raspberry, you’ll adore it. I can’t recall another perfume like this: sweet, creamy, fruity, tropical and vanilla-based. Highly recommended. Scent, longevity, trail, packaging, price and versatility: 10/10. Would I buy it again? Always.

A very good fragrance that smells of raspberry and rose to me. It’s energising, sweet, youthful and fun. It reminds me of Zara’s Valentines, except for the passion fruit in this one (only at the start) and the rose note. The trail and longevity are good: over 6 hours on skin and 12 or more on clothes. The bottle is gorgeous and the longevity is top-notch. It leaves a pleasant trail without being overwhelming. It opens fruity, then dries down to a rose wrapped in chocolate—powerful and sweet, yet not cloying. I don’t see this for day wear or summer; it’s feminine, enveloping and characterful, ideal for those aged 25 to 35. If you want to turn heads by being different, this is the one for you.

Fresh out of the box, which is a treat; on the first spray, I notice praline with some sweet, penetrating roses. Then it evolves into raspberry and ozonic notes alongside mandarin/orange blossom. These sweet citrus notes turn into salted toffee. At first, it gave me a headache: it’s potent in the opening. PS: let’s see how long it lasts on my skin.

To many it smells like rotting fruit, but I see it as sour red berries with a gaseous, almost ozone or petrol-like twist. It sounds sinister, yet I adore it. It’s not for everyone and I wouldn’t recommend it blindly; it’s truly unique. It lasts longer than other Arab perfumes, with a moderate trail.

It smells like red wine, roses, and very sour raspberry. It’s not that youthful fruity perfume; it has a dark, sexy touch that I like, though I’d prefer it less sour. I’ve had it for a year and it has improved massively with maceration, both in scent and longevity.

What a disappointment, it smells horrible and very artificial. At first, it was a synthetic fruity scent, like a sangria soda, that flooded the room until people asked if I’d sprayed insecticide. I couldn’t stand it, so I gave it away.

The presentation is a 10, beautiful. I’ve received many compliments and people ask what I’m wearing. It’s long-lasting, leaves a trail and I find it sweet and fruity. I love it and would definitely buy it again.
