  • Looking for a gift for a friend, I came across this little gem: it is one of the three fragrances in the Sporty, Sexy, or Glam line of Michael Kors. Although I gifted her something else, I now have it clear that I will buy this creation soon. What I liked most was the Sporty version compared to the Glam or Sexy. Moreover, I haven’t enjoyed a citrus much for a while, as I have always preferred orientals or gourmands. I didn’t know the notes, so I’ll tell you what I smelled on the first hit: the first 10 seconds didn’t convince me due to a spicy note (I thought it was pepper) that vanished instantly, and then something intensely citrusy took hold. I thought it was lime or lemon; in fact, I find it hard to admit there is orange, as I perceive a super lemony and cheerful vibe, nothing of bitter lime or herbal. I distinguished something of tangerine, but very subtle, like when you smell your hands after peeling one to eat. The musk is super creamy and light, very feminine and tender; I feel it gives a powdery and creamy touch. Perhaps I should try it again for a more apt review, but these are my first impressions. The bottle is divine, super minimalist and charming, very Kors and chic. I didn’t love the longevity: I applied it to the back of my hand and it didn’t last more than an hour, but we shall try it on other zones. I also tested it on blotting paper and I advise you not to do so; the truth is, this little perfume changes drastically from paper to skin.

Although I will gift her something else, I definitely will keep it for myself. What I liked most was the Sporty version compared to the other two. • I didn’t like it at all, and like Gabriela, I smell pepper in this fragrance. It reminded me a bit of Gucci II, which I also don’t like.

  • I didn’t like it at all, just like Gabriela; I smell pepper in this fragrance. It reminded me a bit of Gucci II, which I also dislike.

  • It smelled very masculine to me, and although it is not listed on the card, it smells of patchouli with a citrus touch.

  • It seemed very masculine to me; although it’s not stated on the product details, it smells strongly of patchouli with something citrusy.

  • It is a perfume that feels strong at first application, then softens a little. It has an ingredient I don’t entirely like; I think it is the saturation of musk which makes it more mature and less youthful. However, the perfume itself is not bad; it is elegant. By having no flowers or sweetness, it results in a serious and formal scent. It has good longevity.

  • Michael Kors perfumes have always intrigued me until I bought my first MK, the Sexy Amber. Oh, I can’t explain how much I loved it when I tried it for the first time, but I will leave that for another review! Now I am onto Sporty Citrus. Delighted with the Amber, I went to hunt for more MKs, and as my favourites are citrus blind buys, I jumped at this one. I must be honest: upon opening it for the first time, I felt it was too strong and spicy, as others commented, and it reminded me at times of YSL’s Elle, but it changes quite a bit after a few minutes compared to Elle, which becomes woody, while this maintains the citrus. Now that I am re-testing it for the review, as I never wore it because I didn’t like it at first, I think I will give it a chance. That citrus is still there; the fragrance is the same, it hasn’t changed. Definitely for summer, but I would say it is not for everyone; it is a citrusy, fresh fragrance, but it doesn’t smell like a citrus fruit such as Light Blue, for example. This is a powerful, strong, and spicy citrus that makes it refined and rare, so I repeat: it is not for everyone. Now I will analyse its longevity and sillage and then tell you. After nearly an hour, it hasn’t changed, feeling quite close to the skin. Regarding the bottle, it is adorable, minimalist like the entire Sexy and Gold line; unlike theirs which are all metallic, the shape is the same and I love it. I recommend it for those who love strong citrus, because as I said, it is not for everyone.

I confess I bought it with trepidation due to comments warning against blind buys, claiming it was too strong and not for young people… but how glad I was to take the plunge, as I discovered a beautiful, clean floral scent.

I admit I bought it out of fear, given the warnings that it shouldn’t be bought blind, that it’s strong and not for young people, but I’m so glad I took the plunge because I discovered a beautiful, clean floral scent.

  • A fragrance with a formal yet youthful air, free from those childish notes that usually push you towards stronger, more serious scents. Very citrusy, clean, and fresh, it is quite wearable. I feel it lacks mention of a subtle peppery note; it doesn’t dominate, but it does give the citrus a slightly spiced touch.

  • It’s a more formal fragrance without losing its youthful edge; it simply no longer smells childish, making it ideal for encouraging you to try stronger, more sober perfumes. It’s very citrusy, clean and fresh, quite wearable, though I feel it’s worth mentioning that it has a light but noticeable peppery touch, citrus and slightly spiced.
