Descripción

Swan Lake by Maison Catherine is a family fragrance for men and women, launched in 2025. This new creation, designed by Christian Carbonnel, unfolds a scent pyramid where the top notes blend ginger, pomegranate, and raspberry. The heart reveals a floral-fruity harmony featuring Turkish rose, Grasse rose, peony, and peach, while the base rests on white musk.

A top-tier fragrance that, after several days of testing in various conditions and times, convinced me to buy the full bottle. It is distinguished and discreet, unisex, though perhaps a bit heavy for those who prefer something softer and more floral. It suits men and women who wish to project elegance and gentleness (not for children, but for experienced men who give generously without needing to prove anything). The scent reminds me of a night walk by a river, where freshly cut grass, plants, flowers, and damp fruit trees blend together, likely due to the combination of ginger, peony, and roses. Ideal for an afternoon or evening at the theatre watching ballet, blending with the venue’s refinement rather than imposing itself (*note: I unconsciously associate it with Monet’s paintings and the second act of Tchaikovsky’s music*). The longevity is exceptional on my skin, lasting the entire workday without needing reapplication. It is more noticeable in the trail than the direct projection (which is just over a metre indoors, whereas the trail is detectable several metres later). I see it as versatile: from strolling in the park or walking with a partner, to the office in casual or semi-formal attire, and even to complement evening wear. It works well in gardens and enclosed spaces (more so during the day than at night), though in overly airy places it doesn’t perform as it should. If you try it, I believe it is a work of art worth the investment, the most artistic from this new house (Maison Catherine) so far, and sets a very high standard for their other fragrances.
