Sweet Tobacco by Alvarez Gómez

Smells great! Keep in mind that it’s a 12 euro perfume. And you can’t ask for pears from an elm tree, but it’s a great fragrance for the price.

What a gem we have here, I wasn’t familiar with this line and yesterday in a supermarket they had 3 of the 4 to try and I must say they are all spectacular (I missed trying the Berries one because the tester was empty). Here we have what its name indicates, a sweet tobacco, honeyed and very playful… I can’t comment on the similarity to Tobacco Vanille since I never tried it, but the quality for the price you pay is astonishing, if they gave you any of this line to smell in a blind test, you wouldn’t by any chance think it’s a 12€ perfume from the house Álvarez Gomez, you perceive a much superior quality… But now you’ll think… well, 12€.. Álvarez Gomez.. with luck if it reaches 3 hours of longevity. ERROR! This one specifically has surpassed 8h easily and feeling quite strong, just to say that at 4h after having tried it in the store, I went back to get a small box and I also took the Santal Redden one, another that smells spectacular but it’s true that it performs a bit less than this one… even so, it’s also worth it. Ebony orchid pulled me more towards the feminine side at the start, but as the hours passed it became a very rich unisex aroma, I don’t rule out testing it more to see if I buy it or not, by the way, this one performs spectacularly too, on par with Sweet Tobacco. As I said, try them without prejudice, they outdo most commercial perfumery and make a quality leap compared to the perfumes already on sale. BRAVO FOR ALVAREZ GOMEZ, THAT’S HOW THINGS ARE DONE! Edit: I managed to try the Berries of the forest and I had to bring it too… another hit, it literally smells like Kojak. Very rich, totally unisex. I retried the Ebony orchid and discarded it… it smells too feminine to me, it’s the most “difficult” of the line.

Álvarez Gómez surprised us with this collection, which stands out for its careful presentation and bottles with an aesthetic befitting niche perfumery. But beyond the visual, this perfume is simply delicious. It reminds me of certain Danish pipe tobaccos, gently sweetened with molasses, creating a warm, enveloping and very addictive sensation. It is an ideal fragrance for going out for a drink with friends in autumn and winter, both during the day and at night. In spring it can also work perfectly on cooler evenings. It has good sillage, more than decent longevity and an excellent price, making it a very balanced option. A rounded perfume, versatile in its context and with that special something that invites you to come closer… and that, without doubt, attracts compliments. Recommended especially if you like sweet, tobacco-like perfumes. 😊👍
